Background

Er Bai originated from Little White, Snow Emperor’s adopted Ice Bear son. The two possess the same soul imprint but retain independent consciousnesses; when they come sufficiently close, they share memories and vision. Er Bai later became the dominant half because of his transformed body and soul essence, while Little White retained a separate perspective and experiences 43 45 51.

He gave Huo Yuhao his soul ring and soul bone, yet survived as an undead being in the Undead Demiplane. He regards Huo Yuhao as “Grandpa” and considers himself Huo Yuhao’s creation rather than a soul spirit 35 47 51.

Er Bai assists Huo Yuhao in the battle against Tang Chen, the King of Killing. Unable to use soul skills in the divine inheritance ground, he fights with his physical body and soul power, loses his left arm to the Asura God’s power, and continues attacking. He later shields Huo Yuhao from Tang Chen’s sword light, suffering a mortal wound through the lower abdomen 8 9.

After recovering in the Undead Demiplane, Er Bai accompanies Huo Yuhao back to the Far North. His arrival causes Little White’s memories to synchronize, exposing their connection to Snow Emperor and Ice Empress. He subsequently serves as Huo Yuhao’s principal support during negotiations and operations in the Far North 42 43.

Er Bai resembles a massive Ice Bear, but his fur is hazy gray rather than Little White’s pure white. Ghostly blue flames burn in his eye sockets, giving him the appearance of an undead beast 43.

Personality

Er Bai is intensely loyal to Huo Yuhao, whom he addresses as “Grandpa,” and consistently prioritizes Huo Yuhao’s safety, plans, and wishes. He readily throws himself into danger to protect him and remains eager to help him “beat up the bad guys” after recovering 9 42.

He is also blunt, possessive, and vindictive toward those he considers threats to Huo Yuhao or Qiu’er. He condemns Da Ming and Er Ming as future sinners because of their eventual sacrifices to Tang San, arguing that hidden dangers should be eliminated before they can act 42.

Despite his frightening appearance, Er Bai can be childish and playful. He is excited by the prospect of returning home, craves Huo Yuhao’s grilled fish, and repeatedly slips into calling Huo Yuhao “Dad” in front of Snow Emperor, to Huo Yuhao’s embarrassment 42 43 54.

Recovery in the Undead Demiplane
