Wade's thoughts turned over in his mind. For some reason, he suddenly had the illusion that he and Marchioni were guilty of some grave sin.

He gave a light cough, lowered his head to take a sip of hot cocoa, and brought the conversation back to its core.

"Rake cooperated with the goblins because he had his eye on the immense wealth they could influence, as well as their formidable magic and racial unity. All of that could provide him with considerable support."

"At the same time, the goblins would not stop him just because his actions might harm the Wizarding World. They would only applaud."

"And what do the goblins want from cooperating with Rake?"

Wade pondered for a moment before guessing, "To achieve some kind of... revenge or revival for the goblins?"

Dumbledore pressed his fingertips together and sighed.

"That is precisely what worries me. That Amanda is probably no ordinary goblin radical. If she could form an alliance with someone like Rake, then her ambition and vision must be far beyond the ordinary. What she wants will not be a typical demand for power."

Dumbledore nodded, approval showing in his eyes.

The feeling that he only needed to offer a single word for the other person to immediately understand was truly wonderful. It spared them all the cumbersome explanations in between, leaving only the crisp resonance of colliding thoughts.
