Wade had already spent two weeks at Hogwarts.
Time seemed to have suddenly slowed down.
He no longer had to rush to complete one task after another. Instead, he could attend classes, study, research Alchemy, and create Golems at his leisure.
As he walked through the castle corridors, he could occasionally hear the waters of the Black Lake striking the walls, again and again. The sound was steady and tranquil, much like his state of mind.
Those fierce, rapid conflicts from before seemed to have suddenly vanished from his life.
And yet time also seemed to pass quickly.
By the time he came back to himself, half a month had already slipped away. The temperature had risen somewhat, and the corridors at night no longer felt bitterly cold.
While walking by the lake, Wade saw snowdrops beginning to bloom in patches. Their heads hung low, their white petals seeming to carry a faint glow.
Every morning, he would pick up the broken Time-Turner and gaze at it quietly for a while.
The fine sand gathered at the bottom remained grayish white, like a pile of ashes after a fire had burned out.
At night, he would look at it again, but nothing ever changed.
There was still no news from the Headmaster in the Book of Friends.
Wade did not disturb him rashly. He simply came to understand what people must have felt like when they had once waited for his replies.
Every Wednesday evening, he went to Snape's office to study memory magic.
It was also the only class he attended on time.
Wade became more and more skilled at weaving memories, but Professor Snape never praised him. At the end of every session, he always said the same thing: "Continue next week."
Every weekend, Wade also went to
