When the healer retreated outside again, Dumbledore slowly lifted the curtain. Slughorn was clutching a pillow, curled up on the bed like a baby.
His eyes were squeezed shut, as though he were pretending to sleep, but his body was still trembling. From time to time, he cracked his eyelids open and furtively glanced outside.
