Small Talk

By the time they returned to the room, Fred and George each had a large bump on their heads.

No one knew what magic Mrs. Weasley had used, but the bumps were bright red and glistening, as big as fists, making their heads look practically like gourds.

When Hermione asked about them curiously, Mrs. Weasley simply said:

"Oh, that... I used an Engorgement Charm. Those Muggle cartoons you watch so often gave me some inspiration."

Wade clicked his tongue inwardly.

When Mrs. Weasley had struck the two brothers, she had neither spoken a spell nor used a Wand, yet had precisely confined the Charms' effect to those swollen bumps. It looked easy, but it actually demanded a great deal of control.

So when Fred and George went upstairs, everyone in the hotel could not help but laugh, and the air was filled with cheer.

The Twins, however, remained perfectly composed, holding their heads high with immense pride. When the group of teenagers gathered in Wade's room, Fred even borrowed Ginny's handkerchief and tied a bow around the bump on his head.

"Can't be helped. A mother's love is just this weighty."

After seriously adjusting the bow's position in the mirror, he said this.

Then George took Fred's place, holding a pen and gesturing at the bump on his head.

"What are you trying to do, George?" Ginny asked, the corner of her mouth twitching.

"I'm going to draw facial features on it," George said. "You can call this child Johnny!"

Ginny thought she had misheard. "...Johnny?!"

"Great idea!" Fred leaned eagerly against the side and said, "Then draw one for me too later... I'll call her Flora!"

It seemed that the bumps on their heads alone could keep the two of them entertained all day.
