Wade blinked, and the image of the teacup that had not been put back after washing flashed through his mind.
He nodded slightly and did not deny it. "Professor Dumbledore did come, but he has already left."
The corner of Grindelwald's mouth curled into an inscrutable smile. "It seems he is paying you particular attention. What, worried you might become the next Dark Wizard?"
Wade said calmly, "He said that what I did was not wrong."
Crack!
For an instant, Wade thought the glass in his room had suddenly shattered.
He turned to glance at the window. When he turned back, he saw Grindelwald bracing himself against the doorframe as though nothing had happened.
"Oh?" The old man raised his brows, his nostrils twitching slightly. "He can actually approve of slaughter?"
Wade blinked and replied evenly, "What Professor Dumbledore approves of is the necessity of eliminating something like Prometheus."
"Ha! So you think... Dumbledore understands and supports you?"
Grindelwald sneered. "Albus Dumbledore is exactly that kind of person! He knows how to give you just the right amount of approval, making you feel as though he is on your side!"
Unable to help himself, he paced around the room and said angrily:
"But behind his praise, there is always a line called 'rules'! The moment you accidentally touch that line, he turns on you without the slightest mercy!"
"We once formed a Blood Oath and swore that we would never harm one another! And what happened? He kept obstructing me, threatening me, abandoning our shared ideals, and betraying the person he had been in his youth!"
Wade did not say a word.
If one did not know the full story, seeing Grindelwald's sincere, furious expression might lead them to believe that Dumbledore truly was some faithless traitor.
But in truth...
