Background / History

At six years old, Xie Xie participated in the Star Dou Battle Network under the name “I'm the Best.” He accumulated 3 points through at least three victories before being matched against Meng Xinghe, who defeated him with a single slap and cleared his score to zero. The anti-addiction system then barred Xie Xie from continuing due to his age. The loss made him recognize the gap between himself and East Sea City's top geniuses. 14 15

Three years later, Xie Xie enrolled at Eastsea Academy as a new student. He possessed Innate Full Soul Power and same-type twin martial souls—the Light Dragon Dagger and Shadow Dragon Dagger—which both carried dragon bloodline. He later recognized Meng Xinghe as the opponent who had crushed him on the Star Network. 25 26

Xie Xie is proud, aloof, and stubborn, particularly when his strength or talent is questioned. He initially cultivated carelessly and tried to cover his insecurity with bravado, even insisting that “geniuses are always the last to break through” when his peers advanced ahead of him. 25 45

Despite his sharp tongue, he is fundamentally kind-hearted. Meng Xinghe describes him as tsundere, cheeky, cynical due to his family background, and prone to speaking without thinking, but with a good character. 25 His experiences with genuine danger, particularly the Evil Spirit Cult attack at the Soul Guidance Train Station, left him with recurring nightmares and pushed him to become more diligent after seeing Tang Wulin cultivate through the night. 51

The Evil Spirit Cult incident at the Soul Guidance Train Station exposes Xie Xie to mortal danger for the first time. The event leaves him traumatized and drives him to cultivate seriously rather than relying on his natural talent. 48 51

Gu Yuena's Follower
