| Name | Battle Armor (斗铠) |
| Type | A branch of mecha and Soul Tool technology designed for Soul Masters 68 |

History
Battle Armor was created by Xiao Hongchen after the advent of mechas. The first recorded prototype has been preserved in Mingde Hall at the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy alongside the first prototype mecha. Meng Xinghe later stated that he had given Xiao Hongchen the ideas and inspiration for both developments through dreams, without participating in their subsequent research or design. 68
Grades and Requirements
| Grade | Required Metal / Upgrade Method | Integration and Deployment | Typical Minimum Cultivation | Combat Benchmark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One-Word Battle Armor | Every component requires Thousand Refinement; cannot be upgraded 29 71 | Cannot merge with its user; stored in specialized external equipment and equipped through an interruptible armor-fusion process 29 | Soul King 71 | A Soul King wearing it is comparable to a Soul Sage without a Martial Soul Avatar 14 71 |
| Two-Word Battle Armor | Every component requires Spirit Refinement; additional metals can be added to improve it 29 71 | Can merge with the user’s body and be deployed without armor fusion 29 | Soul Emperor 71 | Comparable to a Soul Douluo 71 |
| Three-Word Battle Armor | Every component requires Soul Refinement 71 | Can continue the upgrade path established by two-word armor 29 | Soul Sage 71 | Comparable to a Titled Douluo 71 |
| Four-Word Battle Armor | Created by nurturing three-word armor or adding Heaven-Forged metal 71 | The highest documented Battle Armor grade 71 | Titled Douluo 71 | Comparable to a Limit Douluo 71 |
The stated cultivation thresholds are not absolute: a Soul Master below the usual rank may wear a full set if their physical constitution can endure it. One-Word Battle Armor Masters at the Soul Ancestor stage appear on the Young Prodigy Rankings for this reason. 71
Manufacture
Battle Armor production draws on the four major secondary professions:
- Mecha design
- Mecha manufacturing
- Mecha repair
- Blacksmithing 29
Long-lived, exceptionally talented soul beasts such as Di Tian’s group can personally handle a suit’s blueprint, metal forging, and manufacture. Their two-word and three-word sets were made entirely by their own hands; Meng Xinghe only supplied the Heaven-Forged metal necessary for their four-word upgrades. 29
Human Soul Masters generally rely on division of labor because few possess talent in all four professions, and ordinary lifespans do not allow for millennia of accumulated practice. 29
One-Word Battle Armor has comparatively loose production requirements:
- Its user does not need to participate in its manufacture.
- No age-limit restriction applies to those producing it.
- A qualified Soul Master may commission a set rather than make it personally. 71
Capabilities and Limitations
Combat Enhancement
Battle Armor substantially raises its wearer’s combat power. At the same cultivation level, a Soul Master with Battle Armor is described as being more than twenty ranks stronger than one without it. 71
This amplification disrupts normal matchmaking in the Star Dou Battle Network:
- The fifth tier normally contains Soul Kings, while the sixth normally contains Soul Emperors.
- Battle Armor users can defeat opponents above their own cultivation level.
- Unarmored Soul Kings and Soul Emperors can lose enough matches against armored opponents to fall into lower tiers. 14
Body Integration
One-Word Battle Armor is an external suit and must be assembled through armor fusion, a process that opponents can interrupt. 29
Two-word armor and higher use spirit-bearing metals that allow them to fuse with a Soul Master’s body. This enables immediate deployment and permits later upgrades without rebuilding the entire set from scratch. 29
Battle Armor and Mechas
Battle Armor and combat mechas are the two major branches of mecha technology. 68
| Aspect | Battle Armor | Mecha |
|---|---|---|
| Relationship to user | All grades beyond one-word armor can merge with the Soul Master 70 | Normally remains an external object; only exceptional red-grade mechas can achieve human-machine unity 70 |
| Maintenance burden | Requires little ongoing effort once completed 70 | Repairs, maintenance, and related work consume much of a pilot’s time and energy 70 |
| Effect on cultivation | Favored by talented Soul Masters seeking to reach high cultivation levels 70 | Can hinder cultivation because of its maintenance demands 70 |
| Upper limit | Four-word Battle Armor is comparable to a Limit Douluo 71 | The strongest red mechas can match a four-word Battle Armor Master at the Limit Douluo level 68 |
Mu Ye is the documented exception who reached Limit Douluo while using a red-grade mecha. His body martial soul and attainment of human-machine unity effectively made the mecha an extension of his martial soul. 70
Notable Examples
- Meng Xinghe’s One-Word Battle Armor — Completed when he was nine years old. It is stored in a white bracelet-shaped spatial Soul Tool and assembles in streams of silver-white light. Its apparent sky-blue color is produced by an Optical Refraction Analysis Soul Tool Array; the armor itself is silver-white. 71
- Meng Xinghe’s Spirit Alloy set — He forged a Spirit Alloy One-Word Battle Armor and all components needed for its later upgrades. Perfect Spirit Alloy and fully pure rare earth materials can allow armor of one grade to rival the next. 76
- Gu Yuena’s planned Spirit Gold armor — Designed around Spirit Gold, a Spirit Alloy made from Demon Silver and refined gold. Its strong elemental amplification and active properties suit Gu Yuena’s elemental abilities. 76
