As the radiance faded, a brand-new blade Roy had never seen before floated before him. When he shifted his gaze toward it, information about the blade appeared in his eyes.
"Sealed Lemuenia" "Grade: Unrated" "Weapon Type: Sword" "Blade of Will: Even when not held by its wielder, Lemuenia can fight on her own." "Blade of Blood: Every attack absorbs the life force of those struck and restores the wielder's vitality. Additionally, when Lemuenia is swung in a certain stance, she will cooperate with her wielder in attacking." "Bound by Blood: Lemuenia forms a contract with her wielder and slowly absorbs the wielder's vitality. When the wielder is on the brink of death, Lemuenia will draw the wielder into the sword and retreat from the battlefield." "A living blade from the realm of death. Due to being sealed, it cannot wield its full power."
The blade named Lemuenia was steeped in the weight of ages, as though it had existed for countless eras.
Blood mist wreathed the silver-gray blade, while runes glimmered with a faint bloody light. Above the blade was a pair of dark golden guards resembling bat wings, followed by a blood-red hilt and a diamond-shaped pommel.
One glance was enough to tell that it was no ordinary weapon. Still, its style did not suit Roy. After all, he considered himself someone inclined toward order and justice. But he had no choice now.
As Roy examined the blade, a crimson beam surged from it and entered his body. At that moment, a faint, almost imperceptible energy linked him to the blade. Roy could feel something within him flowing toward that "blood-red blade" at an exceedingly slow pace.
The instant "Time Stop" ended, Roy stretched out his hand. The blade vanished amid a flash of light, then appeared in Roy's hand!
Not far away, W launched several more Originium detonators, blasting away several Sarkaz mercenaries rushing toward her. At the same time, she looked toward Roy in the distance.
She had seen the blade in Roy's hand shatter and vanish. She had seen the greatsword swing down at Roy. A faint sense of satisfaction welled up in her heart, accompanied by a trace of unwillingness. She refused to accept losing to this mercenary from Lungmen. She had not even been able to defeat him personally in a field he was familiar with.
But just then, something unexpected happened!
A burst of light flared before Roy. As it faded, a terrifying-looking blade floated there. Then, the blade vanished!
When it appeared again, it was already in Roy's grasp. Clearly, she had underestimated the man she had defeated. This guy named Roy still had something up his sleeve!
"I've waited long enough, Master... Let's carve them to pieces!"
The sudden female voice made Roy pause. Only after recovering did he realize that the voice came from the blade in his hand!
The voice had sounded fairly normal at first. But after the word "Master," the sword sounded like a hysterical madwoman, her voice brimming with madness!
Roy frowned slightly as he listened. The blade in his hand trembled slowly. She was excited. Just as she had said, she could no longer wait. She could no longer wait to carve all the surrounding enemies to pieces!
Roy greatly disliked this sort of slightly crazed companion, but he had no choice now. He was already bound to this blade, and he needed to wield it to defeat these enemies!
Clang!
Roy, wielding Lemuenia, blocked the Sarkaz before him. But he did not stop moving. As he pulled his blade free, Roy gripped Lemuenia with both hands and swung it directly at the startled Sarkaz.
Even in its sealed state, the blade's strength was beyond comparison with the Sarkaz weapons. The instant they made contact, the greatsword was severed. Roy's blade cleaved through the Sarkaz before him without resistance.
As he drew the blade back, faint crimson wisps flowed from it into Roy. When that bloody aura entered his body, Roy could clearly feel the exhaustion in his body slowly receding. Even his mental state improved considerably.
Perhaps this was what recovering vitality felt like.
Compared to the vitality flowing from Roy into Lemuenia, the vitality returned to him was greater and purer!
"Draw... Slash!"
In an instant, silver sword energy burst forth. Visible wisps of crimson aura gleamed within it, and everything in its path seemed to enter a corroded state!
Lemuenia continuously absorbed the life force of those struck. If this were a game, it would surely count as a bleeding effect. Although Roy did not know where this blade had come from or what power she possessed before being sealed, that did not stop him from recognizing her strength.
As for her mad will... for now, that madness did not affect Roy himself. Though the blade possessed a sickly impulse, she would not defy Roy's will as her master. That was not a bad thing.
Roy was now like someone wielding a bloodthirster blade. Unless his opponents could kill him instantly, these Sarkaz had no chance of defeating him. The Confessors capable of executing him had already fallen, and now the outcome of this battle was beyond doubt.
Half an hour later, outside the moving landship.
Although the mercenaries had won this battle, many of them had already fallen upon this land. As the landship continued onward, the mercenaries around it had become much sparser.
A group was advancing through the defensive zone held by the Sarkaz Mercenary Corps. When he looked at Roy, Hedley wore a complicated expression, especially when he saw the blade floating behind Roy's back as if it were hanging there.
Though the battle had ended nearly twenty minutes ago, that scene still lingered in Hedley's mind. He had already assessed Roy's strength, but it seemed his assessment had been far too conservative. This man's power had exceeded his imagination. Yet that only made him more cautious. Such a powerful man was trying to approach his mercenary corps. There had to be some ulterior motive behind it!
He needed to be more careful...
