History

Founding

Great Qian arose after the fall of the Great Yong Dynasty. Great Yong had once been a southern superpower larger than Great Qian; after its destruction, Great Chang seized part of its lands while House Liu unified another portion and established Great Qian. 224

Decline after the late emperor's death

The death of the previous emperor was concealed for several months because of its expected political consequences. Once the news became public, the Crown Prince ascended the throne under the era name First Origin, while Empress Dowager Zhao oversaw the court. 157

The succession immediately destabilized the dynasty:

• Generals in two northeastern commanderies rebelled under the pretext of eliminating Empress Dowager Zhao.
• Great Chang attacked along the southern border.
• Smaller states and sects tested Great Qian's strength.
• The Azure Python Army was redeployed from the Western Wasteland to suppress the northeastern revolt. 157 235

Primordial Demon Sect invasion

The Primordial Demon Sect later launched a major eastern invasion under the Longevity Realm expert Gongjian Xiu. Its forces were aided by hidden sect disciples and remnants of the Green-Robed Alliance, causing more than one hundred million deaths across several commanderies. 393

Great Qian ultimately won the war when Chen Wudao defeated Gongjian Xiu. 421

Imperial collapse and subordination

Chen Fan killed Emperor Liu Wei and Crown Prince Liu Lun in Heavenly Blade Gorge. The court publicly attributed the emperor's death to sudden illness, while the Zhao clan attempted to support the Thirteenth Prince's succession. 520 523 536

Following the Zhao clan ancestor's death, the Seventh Prince prevailed in the succession struggle with support from the Wu Clan, Yichan Palace, and the Spirit God Dao Sect. After becoming heir apparent, he recognized the Spirit God Dao Sect as Great Qian's supreme sect, making the dynasty its subsidiary. 536

Star Sect restoration

Chen Fan later returned to Great Qian and reestablished the Star Sect. Yichan Palace was dissolved and absorbed into the Star Sect as the Yichan Association, with Qiu Hong appointed its master. 979 980

Imperial family

Only direct descendants of the imperial Liu clan can cultivate the dynasty's special True Technique. It condenses the Son of Heaven's aura into tangible power and is strengthened by Great Qian's prosperity and popular recognition. 97
