The days Taylor spent studying under Krite passed by without his noticing, and a month had gone by. Over that month, through constant learning, discussion, and practice, Taylor gradually solidified his existing body of knowledge and made tremendous progress in construct puppetry.
He was now beginning to develop a powerful puppet of his own, combining the fruits of his knowledge, rune combinations, and the construct puppetry he had learned.
He set down the magic steel pen Krite had given him. Spread before him was a comprehensive design for an Elemental Golem, containing all kinds of ideas for magical energy-channel connections, magical transmission resonance, magical elemental runes, spell runes, and enchantments.
This comprehensive Elemental Golem would essentially use Earth Element to construct its body before Fire Element was added, creating a lava-like state. It was designed overall in humanoid form, though it looked more like a lava demon.
The elementalization, energy usage, energy release and recovery, self-circulation, and other knowledge involved in such a comprehensive Elemental Golem were undoubtedly an enormous challenge for Taylor at his current level.
After living in Krite's Wizard Tower for a month, the first thing Taylor had come to appreciate was Krite's unfathomable depth of knowledge, as though he were a humanoid library.
Every weekend, Taylor would discuss what he had learned with Krite and exchange fresh viewpoints and ideas.
Yet by the end of the first weekend, Taylor felt as though his reserves had nearly been drained dry. Wizards thought far too quickly. Before he had even processed much of the knowledge himself, Krite had already thoroughly considered all the subsequent derivatives. They simply were not on the same biological level.
Even when he, Kano, and Bobby joined forces as one and brought out some knowledge from the Zombie Plane, they could only barely keep up.
Starting from the second week, those exchanges had already turned into one-sided lessons, though Wizard Krite was more than happy to nurture Taylor.
For an apprentice to be able to exchange ideas with a wizard, present all kinds of novel viewpoints and entirely new concepts, even if it lasted only one day, was an impossible feat.
That was because the gap in life level between apprentices and wizards, as well as their comprehension, calculation, analysis, dissection abilities, and spiritual power, was like the difference between Heaven and earth.
Taylor had barely held his own against Krite for an entire day despite that enormous disparity, and it made Krite resolve to properly cultivate Taylor and turn his first apprentice into a wizard.
After all, even Krite himself had been unable to converse with a wizard for an entire day when he was young.
After refining part of his comprehensive Elemental Golem design, Taylor took out another thick book. It was a comprehensive explanation and guide to various ore types that Krite had given him to study carefully.
It covered a great number of magical mineral deposits and special ores with exceptional energy conductivity, including Abyssal Iron and Heavenly Crystal that Wizard Krite had once used, along with several other special mineral veins.
Through this book, Taylor also caught a glimpse of the possibility that wizards had delved deeply into other planes. Many of the mineral deposits recorded in it did not exist in the Wizard Plane, and were clearly marked as originating from the Abyss, Hell, or Heaven.
This was truly incredible.
"Young Master Taylor, Master has asked me to summon you to complete today's construct enchantment."
The familiar words sounded from outside the door. Taylor rose and opened it. The Butler, dressed impeccably in Butler's attire, bowed to him. After finishing his salute, he repeated what he had just said.
"Alright, I understand."
After hearing Taylor agree, the Butler bowed once more and silently withdrew.
Watching the Butler disappear around the corner, Taylor could not help but sigh.
"Why is he so elegant...?"
Setting aside his thoughts, Taylor headed to the third floor of the Wizard Tower, where Krite often conducted experiments, research, and puppet assembly.
After arriving at the designated location, Taylor skillfully handled all kinds of materials, melting them into liquid with a specially made furnace and enchanting the corners and less important sections of the Construct Puppet.
Over the past month, he had been responsible for enchanting the less important parts and edges of this Construct Puppet, as well as constructing its magical energy channels.
Not long after he began working, Krite appeared as well. He was responsible for combining spell runes and enchanting the spell arrays in several core sections.
Neither Taylor nor Krite disturbed the other. They silently worked on their own tasks until the sky darkened and the Butler had directed the other puppets to prepare a lavish meal. Only then did the two stop what they were doing.
At the dinner table, both ate silently, but Taylor's gaze kept drifting toward a special box diagonally behind him.
The box contained all kinds of experimental materials, including magical metals, Magic Cores, crystalline tools, and more.
As long as it was a special metal, crystal, or similar material he currently knew of, it could basically be found in that box. Once, he had even stuck his head inside to look. All kinds of metals were neatly arranged within, and whenever he reached in and named the metal he needed, the corresponding metal would fly into his hand.
Taylor was no longer an ordinary wizard apprentice. He had already begun to establish a systematic body of knowledge, and he understood exactly how precious and valuable those metals, mineral deposits, crystals, and other materials were.
He also came to realize just how wealthy his teacher truly was. Krite was practically a hidden tycoon.
Krite, who was eating, seemed to notice Taylor's gaze and spoke.
"In the future, you will be as wealthy as I am."
Taylor was startled. He thought Krite was warning him not to covet those materials, and hurriedly said,
"Teacher, I don't mean anything else by it. I'm just a little curious."
He truly had not developed any greed. He was simply curious.
"I know."
Krite put down his knife and fork and said seriously,
"Being curious about and passionate toward all kinds of materials is a quality a wizard should possess. I am not angry over it."
"And just as I said, abundant materials and wealth are things you will obtain in the future as well. Your talent is no less than mine. Sooner or later, you will become a wizard."
After hearing this, Taylor's expression visibly improved. At the very least, his face did not turn deathly pale all at once like before.
That's good, that's good. Don't let me die for no reason like that.
At this point, Wizard Krite clearly wanted to offer a few more pointers. He continued speaking to the relieved Taylor.
"In our Wizard Civilization, White Wizards are the mainstream. We are not as poor as those Black Wizards who have been driven into mud pits, forests, or swamps."
"In fact, once you become a wizard, many materials will be within easy reach. Especially for wizards like me, who can create powerful Construct Puppets or Elemental Golems—there are countless ways to amass wealth."
"This world is far too small, so powerful wizards discovered more worlds. Just like our White Tower Alliance, we control a great number of planes that provide abundant metal resources, mineral resources, and biological resources. It can be said that a considerable portion of our materials are within easy reach."
"The wealth of wizards is beyond your imagination. As long as you participate in wars against planes, the resources you gain will be unimaginable. After exchanges and trade, you can obtain even more resources. Gradually, you will discover that many materials are no longer all that precious to you."
Through Krite's description, a brand-new Wizard Civilization filled with conquest, gunpowder smoke, and research slowly unfolded before Taylor's eyes. At the same time, he understood why Krite was so wealthy.
Put simply, it meant conquering other planes and turning the spoils they seized into their own resources.
Now that the White Wizards were the mainstream, they held greater initiative in resource circulation and planar conquest.
Compared with the Black Wizards, who were barely clinging to life, the White Wizards were practically the embodiment of wealth and luxury.
