"Ha ha ha ha! This was a true wizard, the wizard I had always envisioned, the wizard I wanted to become! Resources? Just plunder them! Knowledge and truth could only be obtained through plunder as well!!!"
Ever since his conversation with Krite that day, Kano had been acting like a madman in Taylor's mind.
The Wizard Civilization as described by Krite was filled with plunder, conquest, and invasion. It nourished itself by taking the knowledge, truths, resources, and even origins of other planes. It was exactly what Kano had always longed for.
Once two worlds collided, peaceful coexistence was nearly impossible. Only war, conquest, and plunder were the true way for them to deal with one another. The wizards had understood this long ago.
White Wizards might be friendly internally and respectful of rules when dealing with their own kind or race. But when facing outsiders, they became the most ruthless bandits, seizing whatever resources and knowledge they needed.
If the other plane was ruled by humans, things were better. The White Wizards would eliminate the resistance, gather the knowledge and resources, then bring the people there better lives through more advanced systems. They would also spread the wizards' power system.
But if the plane's rulers were non-human races, then unfortunately, the White Wizards would use the most direct and destructive methods to swiftly sweep through the entire plane, reducing them completely into a slave race to create value.
Taylor also looked forward to the planar wars Krite described. As a wizard apprentice, he too yearned for more truths and knowledge to forge his own system, and he needed resources to pave his path faster.
The only things known to exist on the Zombie Plane were some low-grade magic ores and magical metals. Taylor had already used those resources to create several Magic Mechs, having them help excavate more mineral deposits and hunt magical beasts. That was why he had moved into Krite's Wizard Tower instead of continuing to develop the Zombie Plane.
That plane had already begun operating on its own and accumulating resources. The only regret was that he still had not found where the two genius sages lived, nor obtained their knowledge.
A world was too vast, and he was only one person. He had collected quite a lot of resources by now, but had no way to sell them.
Ever since coming to Krite's Wizard Tower, Taylor had entered a state of full-scale operation. He organized his time meticulously, dividing it among experiments, research into Construct Puppets, assisting with enchanting practice, and study.
In his mind, Kano and Bobby had also assigned themselves tasks. Kano was currently responsible for the structure of Flame Sorcery, researching subjects such as further improving its power and explosive effects.
Bobby was responsible for the construction of Elemental Golems. For instance, Taylor's Lava Golem, which had not yet been fully developed, had been handed over to Bobby.
As for Taylor, the primary consciousness, he was responsible for daily study and accumulation, absorbing all kinds of knowledge, as well as research in the direction of Bloodline Wizards. He was now a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.
The only opportunity to fuse a bloodline would come when he became a Level 1 Wizard, at the moment his life level underwent its transition. Only then would his body's capacity for acceptance be at its strongest.
The one with the most free time now was probably Dom the Fire Bird. Still, Dom had not been having an easy time lately. For some reason, Taylor no longer took out the transparent candy beans Dom had once loved from his spatial ring. Now, Dom ate specially made Fire Element bird feed.
Compared to when he had just hatched, Dom had grown into a large Fire Bird. With his wings spread, he was nearly two meters wide. He had become a true Fire Bird, and when he flew through the sky, he looked like a flowing blaze.
He had also gained his own means of attack: spitting fireballs from his beak. The fireballs were not weak either, roughly as powerful as sorcery cast by a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.
Although magical beasts grew quickly and formed their combat strength quickly as well, their power level was usually fixed at that point. Without some other fortuitous encounter or the implantation of a powerful bloodline, Dom would remain at this level for the rest of his life.
In the days that followed, Taylor learned all kinds of knowledge from Krite every week. On weekends, he would receive Krite's personal guidance. Then he spent his days assembling puppets, practicing hands-on work, enchanting Construct Puppets, building magic-power channels, and studying and understanding himself.
It had to be said that the learning environment among the White Wizards was truly excellent. There was no infighting, no conflict, and certainly no murdering others for treasure. Everyone had their own tasks, while apprentices followed the rules, behaved themselves, and worked hard to improve.
Every day, the wizards immersed themselves in work, experiments, and study. They had no spare time to abuse or suppress apprentices.
The entire White Tower Alliance was like a wound-up machine. Apprentices and wizards formed its countless components, keeping this high-speed machine racing steadily toward a better future.
All manner of resources from different planes continuously nourished those components, allowing them to shine with new brilliance and driving the massive machine to become ever better.
Perhaps while those Black Wizard apprentices were still being torn apart from their loved ones, carrying out dangerous missions, or even being used as experimental materials, I still had to honestly conduct my academic research...
Sometimes, Taylor wondered whether he would be living so comfortably now if he had become a Black Wizard apprentice.
After all, Black Wizards had all kinds of personalities and cruel methods. Most importantly, they were poor—far too poor.
He was very satisfied with his current life and found it comfortable. Its only flaw was perhaps that it was too peaceful. He began personally building a more powerful Magic Mech.
This Magic Mech was an upgraded version in which he had replaced some magic runes with sorcery runes. It was nothing like the crude old Magic Mechs he had created on the Zombie Plane.
Time passed bit by bit. Then, one morning, while Taylor was outlining the runes for this brand-new Magic Mech, Butler suddenly came to find him and said that Wizard Krite wanted to see him.
When Taylor arrived at Wizard Krite's study and pushed open the door, he found Krite dressed formally, his face full of excitement.
"War is about to begin, Taylor. This will be the first war you encounter!"
The moment they met, Krite said this to Taylor, leaving him utterly bewildered.
War?
Could it be that the Black Wizards were about to rise up?
Upon hearing the word "war," Taylor thought the White Tower Alliance or the Wizard Civilization he belonged to might be under attack. But seeing the excitement on Krite's face, he understood that this was probably a war directed elsewhere.
For example, a planar invasion war.
What Krite said next completely confirmed Taylor's guess.
"This war was made possible by the planar coordinates provided by a Level 3 Wizard. He will directly open the spatial planar passage when the time comes."
"Several Level 2 Wizards, along with Level 1 Wizards like me, will form the main force of this war. Stitched Beasts and an army of puppets will serve as the primary basic combat units and sweep through the entire plane."
In other words, they were about to strike it rich.
