"I hate water..."
Taylor, clad in a red robe, lifted his foot and watched droplets clinging to it drip from the sole. He then looked at the endless tidal flats nearby and the occasional little fish swimming beneath his feet. His face immediately fell.
Of the five spells Taylor had learned so far, two were related to fire. Gale Spell was a versatile spell, Black Mist was an auxiliary spell, and Mild Mechanized Mind went without saying.
He could now sense that the spell models for Flame Serpent Spell and Lesser Fireball in his mental space had both dimmed somewhat, as though the omnipresent, highly active water elements around him made them feel suppressed and repulsed.
Krite, who had casually condensed a large ball of water in his hand with spiritual power and was studying it, heard his apprentice's complaint and said with a smile.
"Adapting to different planes is also a required course for Wizards. There will be plenty of situations like this in the future—extreme fire elements, extreme wood elements, extreme light and dark elements. All of them are possible. Adapt to it slowly."
That was simply how Wizards were. Once they had finished tossing around their own world, they began tossing around more worlds. The workings of worlds, the continuation of civilizations, symbols, information, writing, powerful lifeforms, even the operation, flow, and changes of worlds themselves—all were knowledge and subjects worthy of study in a Wizard's eyes.
For instance, Wizard Krite had now begun studying the active water elements of this plane.
Behind the master and apprentice, Butler still wore a polite, gentle smile. However, the box on his back had somehow opened, and seven more towering puppets with broad shoulders and powerful builds appeared around him, wielding greatswords, meteor hammers, chain hammers, broadswords, shields, war blades, and axes.
Including Butler, all eight Construct Puppets had appeared. These eight puppets had been forged by Krite from the finest magic metals available at his current level. Their strength, durability, size, speed, and command of elements had all been enhanced with spell formations and spell runes.
Although the elemental powers they wielded were somewhat limited and they lacked flexible responses, they were, after all, Construct Puppets crafted by a first-rank Wizard—and by the wealthiest group among first-rank Wizards, the White Wizards.
Thus, they possessed the power to suppress first-rank lifeforms.
Behind the powerful Construct Puppets stood over a hundred Magic Mechs, five hundred granite puppets, and three hundred iron puppets. Nearly a thousand puppets in total formed the Puppet Legion, arranged in neat formations and awaiting battle.
The Puppet Legion led by the Construct Puppets was precisely why Taylor and Krite still looked so relaxed.
Krite was currently holding several water spheres of differing sizes, masses, and even elemental fluctuations as he conducted his research. Beside him were also several mist spheres in gaseous form and solidified ice spheres.
Seeing how happily his teacher was conducting his research, Taylor quickly adapted to the overly active water elements here and decided that, for the time being, he could only use Gale Spell against enemies.
Fortunately, he was not the main force. Then again, with his strength, he was not qualified to be one anyway.
Since his teacher was busy, Taylor naturally had to continue his own studies. As he was in an entirely new plane, he naturally needed to thoroughly study the composition, flow patterns, activity, and inertness of this plane's overall elemental mana.
He directly removed an instrument from his spatial ring, one specially designed to analyze the overall elemental composition and elemental distribution of other planes.
White Wizards were a practical-minded group most skilled at invention, innovation, creation, and the collection of knowledge and truth. They had also invented all manner of auxiliary instruments to help them acquire and comprehend knowledge more effectively.
This Otherworld Element Analyzer was naturally an invention of the White Wizards. Ordinary third-rank Wizard apprentices had no way of coming into contact with such an instrument, because it was intended for the most promising apprentices. Even some newly advanced first-rank Wizards still relied on these instruments for assistance.
Through his own talent and Krite's help, Taylor had obtained one such instrument as well.
Before beginning his research, Taylor did not forget to release Kano. A flash of blue light energy passed by, and the Magic Mech controlled by Kano appeared before Taylor.
Taylor was some distance away from Wizard Krite. He turned back to look at his teacher, and after confirming that nothing seemed amiss with Krite, he turned around and activated Kano's Magic Mech.
"Has the war officially begun?"
The moment Kano opened his eyes, he noticed that his feet were standing in a tidal flat. He hurriedly lifted the hem of his red robe slightly to keep it from being soaked by seawater.
As Taylor activated his Otherworld Element Analyzer and adjusted the stability of its data-testing mana link, he replied.
"That's right. The war has officially begun. It's just that Teacher is currently studying this plane's elemental subjects and has no time to formally lead the Puppet Legion into battle."
Kano turned around and looked at the Puppet Legion led by eight Construct Puppets. An expression of envy unexpectedly appeared in his eyes.
If Taylor also had such a powerful armed force protecting him, his future path as a Wizard would be far smoother. But unfortunately, it belonged to Teacher Krite. It was not something he could covet.
Still, sufficiently powerful and organized lower-level forces could settle many troubles. Once Taylor had his own Wizard Tower in the future, he would definitely need a powerful Puppet Legion as his foundation of combat strength if he wanted to independently lead planar invasion wars.
Kano slowly calculated in his heart. Taylor would certainly conquer planes in the future, and if he conquered them alone, the resources he harvested and the knowledge he acquired would be richer and more vast.
At that time, he could not only harvest a plane's knowledge and resources, but also use the Puppet Legion to oversee the lifeforms of those planes, making them cultivate and create even more resources and benefits.
A ready-made Puppet Legion was just too tempting. What a pity. Why did it have to belong to Teacher Krite?
Kano reluctantly withdrew his greedy gaze.
Taylor himself was an inferior version of a trinity, so whether it was Bobby or Kano, both regarded Taylor's teacher, Krite, as their own teacher as well, even if Krite himself did not know that students like them existed.
Seeing that both Krite and Taylor intended to remain where they were to study the plane's overall elemental distribution, elemental flows, and other knowledge, Kano could not stand it any longer.
"You stay here and keep researching. The more you study, think, and experiment, the more benefits you'll gain in the end. I'll go scout out this plane."
Kano's Magic Mech body possessed a transformation spell. Though it could not deceive first-rank lifeforms, deceiving beings below first rank was more than easy enough.
"Mhm. Do whatever you want. Don't hold back—feel free to act."
Taylor also felt that he and his teacher might be staying here for a while, so he nodded and agreed to Kano's idea.
After receiving Taylor's permission, a dark, sinister smile actually appeared on Kano's metal face.
"Don't worry, Taylor. I won't disappoint you."
With that, he immediately transformed into a tall fishman dressed in a red robe and slowly vanished from Taylor's sight.
After Kano left, Taylor lowered his head and was about to continue adjusting his instrument when Krite's voice suddenly sounded beside his ear.
"Not a bad Magic Mech."
