Shiny Wurmple

"Those Taillow were really too much! They were the ones who stole our food first!"

Although several days had passed since the Taillow flock's surprise attack, Rosa was still brooding over it.

"All right, isn't that matter already behind us?" Seeing this, Gary came over to Rosa's side and held her as he comforted her.

"We can just forget about it!"

"I'm just a little annoyed, that's all." Though she said that, the puffed-up look on her little cheeks had completely disappeared.

"You're awful." Rosa knew Gary was joking, so she lightly punched his chest.

And so, Gary and Rosa continued through Petalburg Woods, fooling around as they went.

"Wait."

After the two had walked for a while, Gary seemed to notice something and suddenly stopped.

"Gary, what's wrong?"

Gary's action immediately caught Rosa's attention. She stopped as well, turned to look at him, and asked.

"Don't tell me that Taillow flock really came back?"

As she said this, Rosa nervously looked around, afraid that the Taillow had tracked them down.

"It's not those Taillow."

Gary found Rosa's cautious reaction rather amusing, but he ultimately shook his head.

"If it's not those Taillow, then what is it?" Since it wasn't the pursuing Taillow, Rosa's curiosity was piqued, and she continued asking Gary.

"It's here." Gary stopped before the tree and spoke to Rosa.

"Here?" Rosa gave the tree a quick once-over but found nothing strange, so she turned to Gary beside her. "Why can't I see anything?"

"Wait, look over there!"

After hearing Rosa's words, Gary pointed in a direction on the tree.

Although Rosa did not understand what Gary had found, trusting him as she did, she decisively looked where he pointed.

"That is..."

You never knew until you looked, but once she did, Rosa was shocked by the unbelievable sight before her.

"That's... a purple Wurmple!"

A purple Wurmple was resting on the tree before them. Ordinary Wurmple were pink, so there was no doubt that this was a Shiny Wurmple.

"That's right, a Shiny Wurmple." Gary nodded, confirming Rosa's observation.

When he and Rosa had passed by earlier, Gary had caught a glimpse of purple on this tree, but he had not reacted to it at the time.

After composing herself, Rosa walked beneath the tree and called out to the Shiny Wurmple above, "Wurmple, I want to catch you!"

With its overwhelming strength, Unfezant easily suppressed the Shiny Wurmple before it and knocked it unconscious.

Seeing this, Rosa decisively threw a Poké Ball and caught the Shiny Wurmple.

After successfully catching it, Rosa happily skipped over to Gary's side, sharing her joy.
