The green-haired middle-aged man who emerged from the grass was none other than the poacher Aron. He immediately spotted Gary and Rosa resting beneath the shade of a tree.
Judging from their faces, Aron concluded that they were young and not particularly strong. Their clothing materials also made it obvious that they were a wealthy young master and a rich young lady. Putting it all together, they were clearly rich kids out for a stroll—wealthy, and possibly carrying rare Pokémon. They were a big catch.
After pulling off this job, he might not only make up for his previous losses, but even earn a handsome profit.
At the thought, greed flashed in Aron's eyes. To him, Gary and Rosa already looked like fish on the chopping block.
Without further hesitation, Aron strode toward Gary and Rosa.
"You two are unlucky to have run into me. Hand over all your money, Pokémon, and valuables right now, or don't blame me for not warning you beforehand."
Once he approached them, Aron wore a greedy, arrogant expression as he threatened Gary and Rosa.
"You're the poacher Aron!" Gary immediately exposed his identity.
"So you know who I am. Then hand over everything valuable you have and spare yourselves some pain." Even after his identity was exposed, Aron did not panic and continued threatening them.
"Gary, isn't Aron a Pokémon poacher? Why is he acting like a robber now?"
Facing Aron's threats, Rosa, with Gary beside her to rely on, put on an expression of surprise and confusion as she asked him.
"A poacher steals, and a robber steals. There's no difference between the two, so it's hardly strange for Aron to be a robber too."
Naturally understanding what Rosa meant, Gary immediately played along and explained.
"So that's how it is!" Rosa put on an enlightened expression after hearing Gary's explanation.
Seeing the two of them putting on this act, Aron realized that they were making a fool of him, and his anger immediately flared.
"Since you refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit, don't blame me for getting rough!"
With that, Aron swung his fist at Gary and Rosa.
The moment Rosa saw this, she immediately ducked behind Gary. Fighting was truly not her forte.
Gary, however, was not afraid in the slightest. Instead, he was eager to give it a try.
Facing Aron's incoming fist, Gary merely shifted his body slightly and dodged it. Then, with swift movements, he slammed a kick into Aron's abdomen and sent him flying.
Seeing Aron get kicked away, Gary grew a little excited. After all, this was his first time testing out the physique of a Super Pallet Towner. It seemed pretty damn great!
"I thought a big brute like you would have some skill. Didn't expect you to be this flimsy."
After sending Aron flying with just one kick, Gary found it somewhat unsatisfying. He looked regretfully at Aron, who was hunched over from the pain in his abdomen, and spoke with a sigh.
"Are you all show and no substance, or have you already gone soft?" Gary looked Aron up and down with a teasing gaze.
"You bastard! Since that's how it is, don't blame me for being merciless!"
Having been struck so easily by Gary and then humiliated by him, Aron felt deeply disgraced. In a fit of shame and rage, he pulled out a Poké Ball and threw it.
"Teach them a harsh lesson, Tyranitar!"
A deep-green Desert Tyrant Tyranitar soon emerged from a flash of white light before Gary and Rosa.
Under Aron's command, Tyranitar turned a fierce gaze toward Gary and Rosa, looking as though it would attack at any moment.
Pokémon: Tyranitar Type: Rock, Dark Ability: Sand Stream Gender: Male Level: Level 56 Aptitude: Elite Four Candidate Moves: Rock Throw, Fire Fang, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Iron Defense, Payback, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Hyper Beam, Sandstorm, Ancient Power...
"A gym-level Tyranitar?" With the system's help, Gary inspected Tyranitar's attributes.
For a pseudo-legendary like Tyranitar, Elite Four aptitude could be considered quite poor. Pokémon known as pseudo-legendaries never had aptitudes below Elite Four Candidate, and Aron's Tyranitar happened to be at the very bottom.
Still, for a low-level poacher like Aron to obtain a Tyranitar with Elite Four Candidate aptitude, he had really stepped in dog shit.
"Is this your confidence? I'm afraid it's still not enough!"
After learning Tyranitar's details, Gary remained unconcerned. He casually tossed a Poké Ball in his hand as he spoke.
"Damn it, attack!"
Humiliated by Gary once again, Aron flew into a rage and immediately ordered Tyranitar to attack.
Upon receiving Aron's command, Tyranitar started forward, advancing toward Gary with a savage expression.
Gary held back the eager Rosa beside him, then directly threw his own Poké Ball.
"Leave it to you, Blastoise!"
In another flash of white light from the Poké Ball, a remarkably well-developed Blastoise appeared in Tyranitar's path.
"So this is your confidence?" Looking at Gary's rather formidable Blastoise, Aron turned his gaze toward Gary. "But it alone is no match for my Tyranitar."
Aron was exceptionally confident in his Tyranitar.
"But it'll be mine soon enough. I'll sell it for a good price!"
After saying that, he completely ignored Gary, whose expression had darkened, and gave Tyranitar an order.
"Go, Tyranitar! Use Stone Edge!"
The moment Aron's voice fell, dozens of rocks materialized around Tyranitar. Under Tyranitar's control, they shot toward Blastoise like Sharp Arrows.
"Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!"
Faced with the incoming barrage of rocks, Blastoise unleashed Hydro Pump, blasting apart every Stone Edge that came its way. Blastoise emerged completely unharmed.
Seeing Blastoise easily neutralize his attack, Aron was slightly startled, but he quickly continued directing Tyranitar's assault.
"Sandstorm!"
As a Sandstorm spread through the area, visibility in the vicinity plummeted. Even forcing one's eyes open would result in injury from the blowing sand.
Amid such dangerous conditions, Aron let out a wild laugh.
Little did he know, Gary was completely confident.
