Background and History

The Uchiha Clan descends from the Sage of Six Paths’ eldest son and has endured for more than a thousand years. Its history, forbidden techniques, and ancestral records were preserved beneath its old shrine in Konoha. 602

Uchiha Madara was a defining figure in the clan’s past. The Great Elder Uchiha Zhu had once studied under him and participated in Konoha’s founding, but the clan ultimately did not follow Madara when he left the village; Zhu later judged that Madara had acted too rashly against Hashirama Senju. 15 83 The Uchiha and Senju nevertheless formed Konoha together, a history largely unknown to later villagers. 366

By Uchiha Yū’s childhood, the clan’s relationship with Konoha’s leadership was deeply strained. The clan initially treated Yū as a burden despite his surname and his parents’ deaths in war. Sharingan
