The main proceedings were over, and most of Konoha's residents had gone off to enjoy the evening festivities.
Xuanhui took Pakura downstairs as well.
"What's that?"
"That's sugar art. Want some?"
"I'm fine just looking."
"Two sugar figures, please."
Pakura looked at the little sun crafted from sugar in her hand. She hadn't even tasted it yet, but her mouth already felt sweet.
"They're selling pretty clothes over there. Want to buy something and try it on?"
"I have enough clothes. Don't buy me any more."
"It's fine. I like looking at you. You can wear them for me later."
"What if I won't let you see..."
"Then I'll go find something else..."
Xuanhui was only halfway through when Pakura reached out and covered his mouth with her delicate hand.
"Don't say it! I'm all you need..."
I meant I'd find you something else to wear...
Pakura pulled Xuanhui over to buy clothes.
Behind them, Fugaku and Mikoto exchanged a glance and both laughed.
"Mom, Dad, why are you laughing?"
Fugaku patted Itachi's head and flicked his forehead.
"You'll understand when you're older."

About an hour later, the two of them, dressed in their new clothes, grew tired of walking around. They went to the park, found a bench, and sat down together.
"Let me try that slushie."
Xuanhui took the straw and had a small sip.
"I don't think it's as good as orange juice. What do you think?"
"Agreed."
Pakura sighed, stretched out her legs, and wiggled her sandaled feet.
"These shoes are exhausting to wear. They're digging into my feet."
"Then I'll carry you home on my back later."
Pakura was overjoyed inside, but she maintained a maiden's reserve on her face.
"Wouldn't that be a little too
