"Ye Lan, who exactly are we waiting for? It's been days! If we don't leave soon, winter break will be over!"
Qin Chuan lay sprawled on the living room sofa, bored out of his mind. His hair was a mess, and he kept picking his nose, much to the displeasure of Indeedee, who cared deeply about manners.
How could he behave so rudely with a guest in the house?
"Indeedee!"
After a few seconds' hesitation, Indeedee gave Ye Lan an apologetic nod. Then, in front of everyone, she replaced the brown sugar meant for Qin Chuan's coffee with garlic.
"Leaf?!"
The sight made Leafeon warily lick the coffee by its feet. Once it was sure no extra ingredients had been added, it happily began to drink.
"Easy, Qin Chuan. Good things take time. Just like a good trainer might end up with a rebellious Pokémon, and a good Pokémon might end up with an obnoxious trainer. You can't rush these things~"
Ye Lan took a sip of the coffee Indeedee had brought him, and his eyes lit up. He could clearly taste something else in it that gave the invigorating drink a wonderfully refreshing note. He immediately wanted to hire Indeedee for his restaurant, but she shook her head and flatly refused.
"As for who we're waiting for, let's just say it's a Bodyguard I specifically asked to come. Who exactly that is, I'm not too sure myself."
Qin Chuan's expression tightened. He ignored the absurd part about Ye Lan not knowing whom they were waiting for and focused entirely on the word "Bodyguard."
He knew Ye Lan was no ordinary trainer—or even an ordinary Pokémon Nutritionist. If Ye Lan felt the need to hire a Bodyguard, this trip was probably far more dangerous than Qin Chuan had imagined.
