At first light, Ulrick Sand boarded his ship.

Looking back, he saw banners of every color fluttering on the shore. Squads of soldiers hurried aboard the hundreds of longships lined up at the docks. Even under such circumstances, the army maintained basic order instead of collapsing into a chaotic crush.

Dark brown leather armor, black scimitars, and dusky yellow shields exuded an aura of cold-blooded slaughter.

This was House Dayne's elite army!

Ulrick took a deep breath. The air in his nose and mouth seemed thick with the rusty scent of blood, filling him with ambition.

The only thing that dissatisfied him was that High Hermitage had indeed sent no one to join the war.

What was more, bewitched by that detestable "Darkstar," Gerold Dayne, many of House Dayne's vassal knights had also refused his summons.

Of course, this was within his expectations.

As the strongest branch of House Dayne's cadet lines, those people of High Hermitage naturally could not possibly be of one mind with him.

Perhaps they were even hoping to see him fail, so that the Daynes of High Hermitage would have a chance to take control of Starfall.

But how could he possibly fail?

Ulrick gave a disdainful smile.

Though this campaign had been launched in great haste, it was by no means a rash decision made in a moment of heated impulse.

He had considered it carefully.

He had long since investigated Eagle's Beak's situation. They had no more than two hundred soldiers truly capable of battle, while he had gathered nearly two thousand elite warriors!

Furthermore, their castle was not yet complete and was at its weakest. If he did not defeat them now, then once they gained a foothold, Starfall would be left with nothing but a headache and no way to deal
