| Early third-tier Spirit Cultivator | 207 | His body is remolded through thousand-year stalactite essence, the Phoenix Nirvana Fire Pill, and the Ice Sky Cold Flame; the resulting breakthrough is described as having a solid foundation. |
Background / History
Mu Feng was left living alone after both of his parents vanished overnight three years earlier. At seventeen, he remains unsure why they disappeared and suspects that their absence conceals a secret he can uncover only after becoming stronger. His only constant companion during those years has been Little Black, an unusually intelligent black cat that has not visibly aged. 1 211
Although he is a Spirit Cultivator, Mu Feng possesses an unusually strong physique for his realm. Grandpa Chu recognized this potential, taught him swordsmanship, and presented him with the cold-iron sword Cold Soul. 1 202
Mu Feng travels to Ice Silk Cave with Da Shan and Yan Leyao. Within its underground palace, he survives encounters with powerful demonic beasts, finds an ancient alchemy furnace, and confronts the Ice Sky Cold Flame. He absorbs the flame with the Five Elements Spiritual Art but collapses under the resulting energy; an illusory remnant feeds him the Phoenix Nirvana Fire Pill to save him. 202 205 206
In the Ice Emperor’s Palace, Mu Feng is purified and rebuilt by thousand-year stalactite essence. The Ice Emperor’s remnant soul aids his recovery, gives him a bell and Spatial Ring, and entrusts him with protecting the Feng Family. Mu Feng later returns to Norton City and reunites with Da Shan and Yan Leyao amid a demonic-beast attack. 207
Appearance
Mu Feng is a handsome seventeen-year-old with a still-youthful face, though his eyes carry a maturity beyond his age. 211
- Has a physique far stronger than that of an ordinary Spirit Cultivator at the same realm. 1 202
- His elemental cultivation manifests as five-colored energy circulating through his meridians. 1
- His black cat, Little Black, is recognizable by her green-glowing eyes. 211
Personality
Mu Feng is calm and decisive under pressure. When his group encounters a fourth-order demonic beast in the underground palace, he immediately orders a retreat rather than gamble with his companions’ lives. 205
He is diligent in cultivation and receptive to Grandpa Chu’s instruction, despite initially taking up swordsmanship on a whim. His control over basic Spirit techniques impresses Grandpa Chu, especially his ability to regulate the force of Frost Technique rather than simply release it at full power. 1 212
Mu Feng is openly dismissive toward hostile rivals, particularly Hao Zhou, but remains considerate toward his friends. He refuses Hao Zhou’s impulsive duel challenge and instead agrees to meet him at the Advanced Academy entrance tournament. 1 202
Abilities & Skills
Spirit Cultivation
Mu Feng is a Spirit Cultivator who forms Spirit Arrays to cast elemental techniques. His advantage lies not only in realm but in unusually fast array formation and refined control. 210 212
- Defeated Han Shuai’s Fireball Technique with a stronger fireball that retained enough force to remain suspended after the collision. 210 215
- Uses Fireball Technique, Wood Thorn Technique, Earth Element Shield, and Frost Technique in combat. 201 212
- Can combine Fireball Technique and Frost Technique into the unstable Flame Bullet. 201
- Defeated Yu Jia with a fire, wood, and Ice Sky Cold Flame combination called Wood Meteor. 210
Five Elements Spiritual Art
Mu Feng uses the Five Elements Spiritual Art to absorb and refine elemental power. 206
- Absorbed the Ice Sky Cold Flame despite the immense pain and energy buildup it caused. 206
- His cultivation produces a five-colored vortex in his Dantian that absorbs Spiritual Energy and circulates five-colored energy through his body. 1
Ice Sky Cold Flame
The Ice Sky Cold Flame is a Heaven and Earth Oddity obtained within the Ice Emperor’s Palace. It initially attempted to devour Mu Feng before he absorbed it. 206
- Enhances Frost Technique enough to nullify Hao Zhou’s second-rank Golden Wolf Kill. 210 215
- Can be incorporated into fire-and-wood combinations such as Wood Meteor. 210
- Mu Feng avoids openly testing it during the demonic-beast assault because important figures are watching from Norton City’s walls. 208 216
Swordsmanship
Grandpa Chu trains Mu Feng in swordsmanship because his physical strength approaches that of Martial Cultivators at the same realm. 1 202
- Wields Cold Soul, a sword designed to complement his training. 1 202
- Is expected by Grandpa Chu to practice more diligently with the weapon. 1
