Background / History

Zhou Tong came from a prosperous second-rate family in the Central Continent. After a member of his family offended the personal disciple of Magic Flame Valley's Valley Master, Magic Flame Valley exterminated the entire family. Zhou Tong survived only because he was away training; when he returned, he found nothing but ruins. 29

Magic Flame Valley later pursued him as well. While fleeing, he encountered a Yao Clan elder who saved him. Zhou Tong subsequently remained with the Yao Clan for decades, eventually reaching the peak of the Dou Huang realm. His surviving purpose is revenge against Magic Flame Valley, though he considers his former strength insufficient for it. 29

By the time he accompanies Yao Feng, Zhou Tong serves as the young master's openly appointed guard. He consistently follows Yao Feng's commands, provides travel knowledge and combat support, and treats failures in his protective duty as personal failings. 26 32 109 124

Abilities & Skills

Dou Zong Cultivation

Old Zhou's breakthrough elevates him from peak Dou Huang to Dou Zong, a level at which he can manipulate spatial power and remain suspended in the air without Dou Qi Wings. 124

  • He repels a black-robed Dou Wang from Falling Eagle Ravine, forcing the attacker to submit to Yao Feng's demands. 203
  • His aura alone deters nearby magical beasts in the Monster Mountain Range and causes lesser hostile presences to flee. 106 123
  • At four-star Dou Zong, he believes few opponents in the region can force him to fight at full strength. 177

Myriad Spirits Earth Element Technique

A low-grade Earth-tier Dou Technique centered on earth manipulation. 108

  • Raises towering earth walls to trap opponents.
  • Compresses the walls into a massive earthen sphere before detonating it.
  • Can be restrained to avoid harming nearby allies. 108

Earth Demon

A powerful earth-attributed technique that summons and controls a stone giant. 132 156

  • The stone giant can engage Queen Medusa directly. 132 133
  • Its attacks include the rotating Explosive Fist, which can detach and strike targets at range. 133
  • Old Zhou uses it to block Xie Zhan's Heart Devouring Demonic Claw and pressure him in battle. 156

Soul Power and Detection

Old Zhou possesses formidable Soul Power and uses it for both combat and practical support.

  • Extracted a seventh-tier Magical Beast Magic Core from a Corpse Puppet, rendering it inoperable. 26
  • Easily subdued multiple Ironwood Wolves while leaving two for Yao Feng to fight independently. 31
  • Can create barriers that prevent ordinary Dou Huangs from probing an area with their souls, provided they are not too close. 168

Flight and Mobility

  • As a Dou Huang, he can form Dou Qi Wings and carry Yao Feng through the air. 110
  • After becoming a Dou Zong, he can fly without relying on Dou Qi Wings. 124
  • He can pursue suspicious enemies and track them back to their base of operations. 144 147

Limitations

  • The Yellow Spring Clan's Azure Nether Poison once weakened him in battle, though the poison was later removed. 108 109
  • He is afflicted by the God Devouring Thorn; while its poison is suppressed after his later advancement, he must avoid prolonged or frequent combat. 177
  • He requires rare materials—including a seventh-tier Magic Core, Thunderlight Sacred Fruit, and Desolate Origin Flower—for a more complete recovery. 177

Relationships

  • Yao Feng — His young master and the person Zhou Tong is assigned to protect. Their relationship develops beyond formal service: Zhou Tong offers counsel, handles threats, and remains unwaveringly obedient to Yao Feng's commands. 26 32 124 144
  • Yao Clan elder — Saved Zhou Tong from Magic Flame Valley's pursuit, after which Zhou Tong remained with the Yao Clan for decades. 29
  • Magic Flame Valley — Responsible for the destruction of Zhou Tong's family; he seeks revenge but formerly lacked the strength to act. 29
  • Wang Dahu and his brothers — Fellow members of Yao Feng's entourage. Zhou Tong supports Yao Feng's decision to recruit them and protects Wang Dahu from Blood Robe Hall members. 28 111
  • Hai Bodong — Hai Bodong is wary of Zhou Tong's powerful aura after regaining his Dou Huang strength. 143
