• Charles enslaved Greater Demons by torturing them for their true names, expanded his territory, and moved his lair to a volcanic region rich in flame magic.
• Charles defeated Zarlos, seized his mountain, and built a city powered by magma while Mark the Yugoloth revealed that devils would soon invade from Purgatory.
• Charles transformed the settlement into Millstone Fortress, armed the growing Ratman population, and prepared his demons and imps for the coming war.
• After the Abyss collided with Purgatory, Charles lured a devil army into the volcanic terrain and destroyed it, killing its commander Buck and earning the Abyss’s favor.

• Charles transformed into a towering Balor, killed the Devil Baron, and drove the remaining devils into retreat.
• Charles expanded his demon armies, forged the Devil Baron’s heart core into a wand, and punished Mark for helping devils smuggle supplies.
• Charles secured fourth-circle sorcery, learned that Hachiwote’s army was approaching, and agreed to join the Blood War with a false true name.
• Hachiwote compelled Charles to swear loyalty, and Charles led his forces into Purgatory as the demon legion advanced against a devil city.

Charles survived Hachiwote’s defeat, advanced to fifth-tier Demon Lord, and built his power around Millstone Fortress. He opened a portal to Isata, where Anderson and the Wizard Sages arrived to find Scorchflame guarding the other side.

• Charles helped Hachiwote’s forces fight the devils, then escaped with Zarlos and his legion after Hachiwote was betrayed and forced to flee.
• Charles and his followers ambushed pursuing devil barons, enabling Bruce to advance into a fourth-tier Greater Demon.
• Hachiwote ignited his laws, authority, and soul in a final attack, and Charles considered claiming the vacant Abyssal Overlord authority before choosing a lesser advancement.
• Charles returned to Millstone Fortress and broke through to become a fifth-tier Demon Lord, while Mark pledged his true name and offered to serve as a merchant.
• Charles transformed a Celestial soul into the Balor Christo and expanded his forces as injured demons and devils contended across the Abyss.
