After teleporting away, Huo Ling and Tiamat appeared in a stretch of void.
Here, the two of them temporarily halted their flight.
Tiamat first took stock of her gains, then looked at Huo Ling and said, "Your gains must be far greater than mine!"
Huo Ling glanced at Tiamat. His gains were naturally far greater than Tiamat's, but that was something he absolutely could not say.
Huo Ling shook his head and said, "My gains were about the same as yours. The places you chose, as well as Bahamut's secret treasury—while the places I ransacked had nothing at all."
"Didn't you see that by the end, I was so poor I was even going to tear down the temples and take them away?"
"On the contrary, Your Majesty, your gains this time must have been substantial. You definitely chose places with important treasures, otherwise why would those ancient dragons and Tom keep chasing after you!"
Huo Ling's turning the tables made Tiamat narrow her eyes.
This time, she said nothing more. Did she believe Huo Ling's words? Clearly not.
Taking Huo Ling's strength into consideration, Tiamat decided to skip over the matter.
Her gains this time had indeed been considerable. More importantly, she had vented some long-held resentment. Every time in the past she had tried to ambush Bahamut's temples, it had ended in a great battle, and she had rarely managed to get anything.
This time was different. Though there had likewise been a fierce battle, the gains had been substantial as well.
"Where do we go next?" Tiamat asked.
Huo Ling said, "Isn't this battle already over? Of course we go back. Do you have some other idea?"
"We haven't fought Bahamut yet. He is still at the Well of Stars. This is a good opportunity!" Tiamat said
