The newly appointed commander ordered one of the former viscounts, "Take me to the commander's mansion's treasury. I want to have a look!"
The viscount wore a strange expression upon hearing this, but he obediently led the new commander toward the treasury.
The guards of the commander's mansion had now almost all been transferred away, with the guards brought by the new commander taking over the garrison duty.
After passing through layers of guards and arriving before an enormous treasury,
the commander's expression improved slightly. At a glance, this treasury looked capable of storing a vast quantity of resources.
These resources would be enough for him to hire a batch of troops and powerful experts to get through the earliest days.
The commander raised his scepter, which projected a secret key that unlocked the treasury's magical lock.
He continued, "Open the treasury gates!"
The guards at the entrance did not dare delay. They hurried before the gates, gathered their strength, and pushed open the massive, heavy doors.
As the gates opened, the commander slowly stepped into the enormous treasury. Yet the sight that met his eyes left him frozen in place.
The treasury was huge—truly huge. One could barely see its end at a glance. Clearly, this treasury had also undergone spatial expansion.
Rows upon rows of towering shelves stood throughout the treasury, each marked with Purgatory runes indicating the materials they stored.
The names of all manner of expensive materials could be seen everywhere. Calamity Coins were practically the most inconspicuous things here.
But the shelves were all empty now—utterly bare!
In the vast treasury, only empty shelves remained where they stood. The materials, spatial equipment, and everything else had vanished without a trace.
"Where are my resources?!"
The commander walked up to a shelf and muttered in disbelief.
