Gladiatorial Arena

Cleon was imprisoned and sent to the Gladiatorial Arena after offending a noble. Count Sarik pardoned his crimes and exposed the noble's own crimes, leading Cleon to revere Sarik as a virtuous benefactor. 17 74

Known as The Bald Man, Cleon protected the arena's gladiators and personally crushed Scarface's guards when Scarface tried to punish Stone. He also bought Harrot for 50 gold coins and took pride in recognizing his potential. 8

Cleon's faith in Sarik gradually collapsed as Man-Beast Combat became profitable and the Count repeatedly treated gladiators as expendable assets. He attempted to stop Harrot's Ogre match, then openly confronted Sarik after Marcus purchased the arena's elite gladiators. Harrot shielded Cleon from Sarik's fireball, and both left Sarik's service. 23 28

Rise to Nobility

Cleon became a celebrated dragon-slaying hero after killing a Wyrm. King Prague granted him the rank of Count and a large territory, while Marcus supported his establishment as a new noble. 62

His Wyrm bloodline gave him a Dragon-related transformation and made him a first-generation Heroic Noble whose descendants were unlikely to face bloodline exhaustion. Cleon married twelve wives in part to strengthen and continue that bloodline. 62

Cleon, Marcus, and Harrot later formed a political and military alliance. While Marcus developed agriculture and Harrot expanded his influence, Cleon sought training from Grand Duke Lance to push beyond his quasi-Legendary limits. 113

Wars and Exodus

Cleon repeatedly fought enemies beyond ordinary nobles, including Legendary Orcs and the Winged Human Empress. He was severely wounded while holding back a Legendary Orc, yet later covered other nobles despite exhaustion, earning widespread prestige. 154 165

After Marcus's death and the fall of Giant Fortress, Cleon returned to the refugees following a failed attempt to assassinate the Winged Human Empress. He concealed his grief to preserve morale, though Harrot recognized that his composure masked genuine sorrow. 194

While recovering from a parasitic Flesh Agglomerate infection, Cleon wandered to the coast and rescued Mermaid princess Beni Cassandra from sea monsters. Their meeting brought him into contact with the Scalefin Kingdom and its Sea Folk. 239 242

The Sea God Priest identified Cleon's infection as fatal without extraordinary intervention. Cleon accepted the dangerous Divine Water treatment in exchange for introducing the Sea Folk to the Sun Priest; he survived, was cured, and gained a stronger marine Dragon transformation. 258 260 261

Cleon and Beni later signed an ancient contract after he confessed his love for her to Queen Sasha. The oath bound their hearts, while Beni's royal Sea Folk blood ensured that her lifespan would match Cleon's. 268
