"My plan was not to observe the storm itself, but its precursor phenomena—to calculate the exact time of eruption from the information exposed during the precursor stage, like using divination magic to predict the weather."
Jia Xiu said, "So what I currently need is a way to observe those precursors. Whether by seeing them, sensing them, or obtaining some kind of data—do we have any means of achieving a similar effect?"
"Not a bad idea."
Director Odysseus answered as he strolled around with his hands behind his back.
"But that would definitely require a huge amount of data."
"Possibly."
Jia Xiu knew that divination spells required enormous amounts of data. After all, their team had a little divination expert. Come to think of it, divination might be the first type of magic likely to be "replaced" by computers. Casting the spell itself might be difficult, but computers really were good at calculating.
Saint Dero also had institutions specifically devoted to weather research.
Back when they had first calculated the Devil Race parameters, they had sought help from quite a few of them.
Weather divination really was much like weather forecasting. Those meteorological institutions set up all kinds of equipment to capture data.
From small sampling magic devices placed everywhere, to long-lasting spells launched into the high sky, to large-scale detection arrays in the outskirts, they had every detection method imaginable except launching satellites into space.
Only after gathering an ocean of data could they make relatively reliable predictions.
Not completely reliable, of course. Predictions were not the same as speaking something into existence.
If that was the case, Jia Xiu inferred that the casters of the Soul Magic Plane must have observed storm phenomena for quite some time and obtained sufficient information before they could carry out such complex deductions
