In the morning, Yue Ling yawned, stretched, and slowly sat up.
He looked to the side.
Gongyang Mo was still snoring, sound asleep, with a glistening trace of drool at the corner of his mouth.
Yue Ling glanced at the time. It was only a little past six, still a long way from the start of the first class.
He moved around a little, slipped on his bear slippers, and got out of bed.
"Creak..."
Hearing the door open, Gongyang Mo mumbled a few unintelligible words in his sleep, rubbed away his drool, smacked his lips, and rolled over to go on sleeping.
Yue Ling would face his second assessment today. From Xuan Zi's hints, its content seemed to have something to do with Wang Yan.
In other words, it would probably involve "knowledge."
As Yue Ling mulled it over, he finished washing up in a few quick motions, then roused the bleary-eyed Gongyang Mo. Only then did the two of them slowly head to the cafeteria for breakfast before entering the teaching building together.
When Yue Ling pushed open the classroom door, he was once again met with a host of curious looks. Even Chen Zifeng came over to ask why he was allowed to skip class.
Under his classmates' scrutiny, he could only helplessly say that his teacher needed him for something, brushing off their questions.
Once they heard that it involved Xuan Zi, the others nodded in understanding and returned to their seats to carry on with their own business.
After all, given Xuan Zi's standing at Shrek, who would dare gossip further about anything involving him?
Whether it was true or not, it was best not to be too curious.
Yue Ling had not told the truth. By now, he could lie without his face reddening
