The winners were:
Xie Yue, Hu Liena, Yan, Han Bing, Lin Yuetian, and Wang Dan, who was coached by Instructor Li Gang.
For Wang Dan and Li Gang, it was just a sparring match; holding out for ten minutes counted as a win.
He was drenched in sweat.
The others were too focused on their own duels to be clear on how Han Bing had won, only vaguely hearing that Han Bing was made of ice.
"Very well. I will draw lots for the remaining six, and we will begin immediately after a half-hour break."
As Gao Lan spoke, she began the draw on the large screen.
Xie Yue vs. Lin Yuetian (Arena 1)
Hu Liena vs. Wang Dan (Arena 2)
Yan vs. Han Bing (Arena 3)
During the break, Sun Haoran said to Yan:
"Yan, you'd better be careful. This Han Bing is made of ice; you can't even land a hit on him. I really suffered."
Yan chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm not as weak as you!"
"You—I'm trying to give you a friendly warning, and this is how you talk? Little brother Han Bing, don't hold back!"
Sun Haoran said, baring his teeth.
Yan remained dismissive, standing up and saying to Han Bing:
"Han Bing, I don't care if you're made of ice or whatever else. My martial soul, Flame Lord, has both fire and earth attributes—it's the perfect counter to your ice. You'd better watch out; I'm not as useless as Sun Haoran."
Sun Haoran stood to the side, clenching his fists in anger, but he had no way to retort.
Han Bing just smiled faintly and said nothing, thinking to himself, This is perfect. I can test out my Haki.
A moment later, ten minutes had passed. Everyone had recovered their stamina, thanks to the help of Instructor Gao Lan's soul power, which had accelerated the process.
Instructor Gao Lan said:
"Everyone, take your positions. The duels are about to begin."
The three pairs stepped up, and at Instructor Gao Lan's command, the duels started.
In all three arenas, martial souls were summoned instantly.
In Arena 3, Yan activated his martial soul. Flames erupted over his body, and a Flame Lord, as if emerging from hell, manifested over him.
Two yellow soul rings lit up on his body.
He looked at Han Bing with disdain, but Han Bing remained motionless, not even revealing his martial soul.
"Han Bing, show your martial soul!"
Han Bing did the same as before, extending a hand and beckoning provocatively.
"Fine, arrogant enough. Then let me see what you're made of!"
Yan shouted, his first soul ring flashing as he unleashed his first soul skill:
"First soul skill: Hell Magma Rush!"
Instantly, magma gathered in his fists as he charged in a straight line, closing in on Han Bing with a burning effect.
Han Bing was startled. Interesting. Is this a fight against Akainu?
But this magma was a drop in the bucket compared to Akainu's Magma-Magma Fruit.
Han Bing still didn't dodge. As the magma struck, his body turned into ice mist.
However, unlike Sun Haoran's physical attacks, the magma was much more effective against Han Bing.
His ice was melting rapidly under the high heat, turning into gas.
It seems that without Haki, he can't hurt me, but the continuous high heat of the magma is something my ice can't resist indefinitely.
Yan was also shocked. Han Bing hadn't dodged or avoided his attack at all, and he really was made of ice—he hadn't been injured in the slightest. He continued his assault, gritting his teeth as he said:
"Han Bing, let's see how long you can last! Even if you're made of ice, my magma can melt you."
Han Bing finished his test. Without Haki, fire-attribute martial souls couldn't directly damage him, but continuous attacks would trigger elemental suppression, causing the ice to melt.
But even so, it was a mutual suppression. Couldn't his ice also extinguish the magma?
Sure enough, after a while, the ice Han Bing melted extinguished the flames of Yan's magma attack.
Han Bing had also expended some stamina and was slightly sweaty.
He said calmly, "Not bad. You made me sweat."
Yan's eyes widened in shock, and the spectators were equally astonished. This Han Bing was too monstrous—he really was made of ice, taking hits with his bare body.
And he still hadn't even revealed his martial soul to counterattack.
Yan clenched his fists and shouted:
"Han Bing, come on! I'm not a pushover!"
Yan lunged forward, then lunged again, activating his first soul skill once more. He had noticed something from the previous exchange.
Han Bing wasn't completely unharmed.
He was clearly losing stamina, and the ice was melting rapidly. If he just increased the power of his magma, he could defeat him.
Han Bing had finished his testing. Although the magma had caused some elemental reaction, he had just been standing there. Now, it was his turn to attack.
He remained motionless in the face of Yan's assault.
But his ice-blue eyes began to frost over, and he said softly: "Ice Age!"
Yan sensed danger as the temperature around him plummeted, so he unleashed his second soul skill:
"Second soul skill: Granite Rock!"
Instantly, rock armor covered his body, boosting his defense, while his melee attacks gained a lava-burn effect.
But as soon as Han Bing's Ice Age was unleashed, a freezing aura erupted. In an instant, the entire third arena froze solid, turning into an ice rink.
Naturally, Yan was caught in it, frozen completely.
The crowd gasped.
"What? It's over already?"
Han Bing turned around. Your magma isn't enough to threaten me. Do you think you're Akainu?
Yan's second soul skill couldn't withstand it, and he was instantly encased in ice.
Instructor Gao Lan pushed up her glasses again. Truly terrifying. This innate domain skill of his martial soul is simply too exaggerated.
The others also looked at Han Bing with newfound respect. Yan was among the best of them, yet he hadn't been able to withstand a single move from Han Bing.
At that moment, the ice around Yan shattered as he exerted all his strength, using his magma to melt it.
Han Bing turned back, a smirk on his face. Not bad, to be able to break out of my ice.
But in order to break free, Yan had exhausted his soul power. He panted heavily, clenching his fists, clearly unwilling to accept defeat.
However, he was in no condition to continue fighting, while Han Bing's clothes weren't even dirty.
"Damn it... if my magma had been just a little stronger, I wouldn't have been frozen."
Han Bing smiled. "That was good, Yan. To be able to break my ice on your own—I, Han Bing, acknowledge you."
Yan twitched his lips. Being acknowledged by a six-year-old was frustrating, but Han Bing's strength was indeed absurd.
He was unable to fight on; continuing would only lead to a loss.
So, he said helplessly, "I lose!"
Gao Lan nodded. "Yan, step down. You did well; you lasted eight minutes."
Although she knew Han Bing hadn't used his full strength—if he had started like this, Yan probably wouldn't have lasted a minute.
Ten minutes passed, and the battles in the other two arenas concluded as well.
Xie Yue and Hu Liena were the winners.
They looked at the third arena, now frozen into an ice rink, and dared not underestimate Han Bing.
Yan said to Xie Yue and Hu Liena:
"Xie Yue, Nana, you two need to be careful. That Han Bing is not easy to deal with."
