The next morning.

Su Ge's body clock woke him right on time. Seeing Xiao Wu still fast asleep in the bed beside his, he let out a deep sigh.

Xiao Wu had refused to switch beds, insisting on staying beside him no matter what. He had no choice, and in the end could only let her have her way.

Still, it was much better than before.

He rose slowly without disturbing the others in Dorm Seven, opened the door, and stepped outside.

Only then did he notice Xiao Chenyu standing there, waiting quietly for him.

His injuries looked much better. At least he could move around freely now.

There was no obvious sign of them from the outside, either. It seemed the healing Soul Master he'd hired had put a lot of effort into treating him.

"Boss Su!"

Xiao Chenyu's face lit up when Su Ge came out. He was about to call out, but then realized his voice might be too loud. He quickly covered his mouth and glanced around.

Once he was sure he hadn't disturbed anyone, he turned back to Su Ge with a smile and took a ring from inside his robes.

"Boss Su, just tell me what you need. There isn't much in all of Nuoding City that I, Xiao Chenyu, can't get done."

"I know. But what's this...?"

Su Ge raised an eyebrow at the ring being offered to him. He had a pretty good idea what it was, but hadn't expected Xiao Chenyu to be able to get his hands on one.

"Heh heh, my father gave this to you, Boss Su," Xiao Chenyu explained, then hurriedly added, "But don't get the wrong idea. My father just thinks very highly of you. He absolutely doesn't have any other intentions!"

"I just really want to get ahead!"

As he spoke, he held the ring out with both hands and bowed to present it to Su Ge. Every word and gesture brimmed with sincerity.

"..."

Su Ge said nothing, only quietly watching Xiao Chenyu and the ring he was offering.

The Nuoding City Lord, who hadn't shown his face, had clearly recognized just how terrifying Su Ge's potential was and wanted to build a connection with him.

He knew this ring wasn't an investment. It was a pledge of allegiance.

The Nuoding City Lord was clever. He hadn't tried to tie Su Ge down before he'd grown strong. Instead, he'd chosen to draw closer to him and leave the choice in his hands.

Aside from Xiao Chenyu taking care of the follow-up, Su Ge had little to complain about.

After thinking it over, he accepted the ring.

Taking the ring Xiao Chenyu presented, he gave the other man the answer he most wanted to hear.

Xiao Chenyu visibly relaxed, a relieved smile on his face. He eagerly began explaining the ring to him.

"This is a Storage Soul Guidance Device. It's one of my father's old collections, with a storage space of three cubic meters. I imagine it'll be useful to you, Boss Su!"

As Su Ge listened and examined the ring, he saw that it was gold all over, with an air of luxury about it. No wonder Xiao Chenyu's City Lord father liked it.

It was practical and attractive—a fine collectible indeed.

Su Ge nodded. Without checking what was inside, he instead handed Xiao Chenyu a note he'd prepared earlier.

"Help me gather some information on Soul Beasts. Remember, I don't want the kind of material you can find in the academy."

"So that's what this is about. Don't worry, Boss Su. I, Xiao Chenyu, will take care of it!"

"Just wait for good news!"

Hearing his answer, Su Ge smiled and nodded. They briefly discussed a few other matters.

For example, he asked Xiao Chenyu to speak to the academy in a couple of days and get him some time off.

Xiao Chenyu understood at once and readily agreed.

Watching Xiao Chenyu leave, Su Ge toyed with the Storage Soul Guidance Device in his hand, then turned and went back into Dorm Seven.

"He certainly was decisive about this investment."

Back at his bed, Su Ge focused his mind and began inspecting what was inside.

There was only one thing in there: money. A whole lot of money!

By his rough estimate, there had to be at least several thousand Gold Soul Coins!

Su Ge had to admit that even though he'd been prepared, now that he was truly in this world and had gradually learned the purchasing power of Gold Soul Coins,

seeing such a huge amount of them right in front of him still came as a shock.

But he knew this was only the beginning. Judging by what people knew about him now, there'd be no shortage of people hoping to win him over in the future.

And, correspondingly, there'd also be no shortage of people with other ideas about him.

An Innate Full Soul Power with no backing was a walking golden signboard. Anyone who understood his value would find it hard not to be tempted.

"But when soldiers come, I'll block them; when water comes, I'll dam it. My fists will be the ones to measure just how much anyone's worth!"

Su Ge took a deep breath, put the ring on his finger, then woke the others. After that, he went to class as usual.

Once Xiao Chenyu brought over the information he needed in a couple of days, he'd ask for leave and set out to obtain his First Soul Ring.

With his strength, he should have no trouble protecting himself. The main question was whether he could find the Soul Beast he was after.

If he couldn't find a Lion-Tiger Beast, he didn't absolutely have to choose one. He could simply pick another Soul Beast. As long as he didn't choose some trash Soul Beast, the Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff could still crush an entire era!

While Su Ge waited, Tang San and Yu Xiaogang were still in the Soul Hunting Forest, struggling to find Tang San's First Soul Ring.

By the time they finally succeeded in obtaining it, Su Ge's own preparations were nearly complete.

He looked over the Soul Beast information Xiao Chenyu had delivered and nodded with satisfaction.

"Boss Su, this is the first batch. Most of it covers animal Soul Beasts. More information on Soul Beasts will be sent along later."

"Besides that, my father asked me to give you these as well."

As he spoke, Xiao Chenyu handed Su Ge two maps, an authorization token, and the academy's leave approval.

One map showed the Soul Hunting Forest closest to Nuoding City, while the other covered part of the Star Dou Great Forest. The token was an official pass allowing him to enter and leave the Soul Hunting Forest.

There was also an address.

"This address belongs to a trustworthy Soul Hunting team. They owed my father a favor years ago, so I thought they might be useful to you, Boss Su."

Su Ge listened quietly. He hadn't expected the Nuoding City Lord to make such thorough preparations over a mere hint. It was hard not to feel grateful!
