Worrying on Behalf of the Orthodox God?

Inside Buddha Mountain's hall.

Golden Toad Bodhisattva quickly composed himself, then resumed walking toward the depths of the hall.

No Buddha statues stood within the empty grand hall.

The True Buddha resided within Mount Sumeru. Beneath the True Buddha, Great Freedom Bodhisattva governed the mortal world. How could ordinary Arhats and Bodhisattvas possibly be qualified to leave statues within the hall of Great Freedom Pure World Bodhisattva?

A long corridor ran along one side of the hall.

Golden Toad Bodhisattva strolled onward, gradually entering a secluded room.

A white-robed monk stood before an incense altar. He was so emaciated that his ordinary long robe hung loosely from his frame, revealing the outlines of his ribs.

Yet compared with that sickly-looking body, his hands, untouched by earthly dust, were startlingly fair and beautiful.

At that moment, those hands held incense and gently placed it into the altar.

There was still no Buddha statue before the incense altar.

He took a slight breath of the green smoke. The one being worshipped was himself.

"Has Tianwu left?"

"Reporting to Pure World Venerable, he has been sent away."

Before this white-robed monk, Golden Toad Bodhisattva had clearly restrained his aggressive ferocity. Every gesture was refined and courteous.

Great Freedom Bodhisattva had already transcended the Five Elements. In any future, he might ascend the lotus throne and join the ranks of the True Buddhas. He was far beyond cultivators still trapped at the third rank, and could barely be considered Golden Toad's elder.

After speaking, Golden Toad Bodhisattva hesitated briefly and said softly, "Venerable One, this disciple wishes to descend the mountain and take a look."

Though he already wore a kasaya, if he remained within Southern Sumeru all day, how would the world ever learn of his revered name? Even people like Tianwu still
