Background

Ye Renxin is the patriarch of the Nine-Heart Begonia Clan, whose martial soul has been inherited for more than a thousand years. He is a renowned physician and a support-type Soul Master; while knowledgeable and respected, he depends on allies for soul-beast hunts because he possesses no combat power of his own 18.

The Nine-Heart Begonia lineage is bound by a curse: only two wielders may exist at once, and the birth of one requires another family member's death. Ye Renxin's father willingly died before his birth, while his mother followed in grief soon afterward. When Ye Ziyi was born, Ye Renxin's grandfather died 19.

He became Dugu Bo's long-standing friend, sharing an unspoken understanding over the burdens carried by their respective families. Dugu Bo helped him obtain his Soul Sage ring, leaving Ye Renxin indebted to him 16 18 22 26.

Following Ye Ziyi's mutation into Sacred Heart Begonia, Ye Renxin believes that the inherited curse of the Nine-Heart Begonia lineage has been cast off. The mutation allows his daughter to escape the restriction that had condemned generations of their family to early deaths 37.

After refining divine power released at the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, Ye Renxin breaks through to Soul Douluo. Xia Mu subsequently selects an eighty-five-thousand-year Blue Silver King as an eighth-ring soul beast suited to Ye Renxin's ultimate wood attribute 58 59 61.

Ye Renxin and Dugu Bo defeat the Blue Silver King together. Ye Renxin absorbs its torso bone and eighth soul ring, reaching level 85 and gaining Spring Breeze Brings New Life, a restricted resurrection skill 62.

Ascension to Titled Douluo

To help Ye Renxin overcome the final gap to Titled Douluo, Xia Mu has him absorb three inherited ten-thousand-year soul bones from the Ye Family's foundation, raising him to level 88 69.

Xia Mu then forces Ah Rou, a hundred-thousand-year Soft Bone Rabbit, to sacrifice herself by threatening Xiao Wu. Saving Liu Erlong's Mother

Liu Erlong and her mother use the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's name to seek Ye Renxin's treatment. Ye Renxin recognizes that the mother's disease has spread deep into her body and uses both Healing Light and Nirvana Divine Light to cure her completely 74.

Because Liu Erlong had obtained his aid through deception and because the use of his ninth soul skills risks exposing his breakthrough, Ye Renxin requires her to serve Ye Ziyi for ten years and keep his Titled Douluo status secret. Liu Erlong accepts the arrangement out of gratitude and filial devotion 75.

The Ye Family also agrees to supply cultivation resources during her service. Ye Renxin considers the recruitment a valuable opportunity to acquire an exceptionally talented combat Soul Master whom the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan has neglected 75.
