Final Exams.
Uchiha Ling frowned as she looked at the Theory Class paper she had just received, pondering.
A tree that stood out in the forest would be blown down by the wind. Her Chakra Amount was now 1.8 Kā, higher than that of even an ordinary Jonin. If she did not hold back, someone would make her graduate early again.
Early Graduation was impossible.
She might as well pretend to be mediocre in certain areas and play them for fools.
The Theory Class exam was a perfect opportunity.
Question One: A Kunai was thrown with an initial velocity of forty meters per second. The target was fifty meters away. At what angle should the Kunai be thrown?
The correct answer was an elevation angle of around nine degrees. It should be thrown slightly upward, allowing enough lead time for it to fall.
Watch me pull off a masterstroke. After a calculation riddled with errors, she arrived at a depression angle of nine degrees.
Question Two: A fully staffed Battalion had sixty-four people. Each person consumed four Soldier Pills a day. According to the Hidden Leaf Village's average mission casualty statistics, the weekly casualty rate was 3.2 people. For a mission lasting five weeks, how many Soldier Pills would be needed?
To calculate it correctly, she had to assume a uniform, linear reduction in numbers.
Watch me pull off a masterstroke. (64 - 3.2 × 5) × 4 = 192 pills.
Bring only 192 Soldier Pills for a five-week mission, and you lot of killing machines will starve to death.
Question Three: Suppose your mission was to hide in the grass and ambush someone, but you were bitten by a Venomous Snake. How would you handle it?
The correct answer was to kill the Venomous Snake, bring it along, and find a Medical Ninja. Different snake venoms required different antivenoms.
Watch me pull off a masterstroke. Find the nearest female ninja immediately and have her suck out the poison for me.
Question Four...
After finishing all ten questions on the exam paper, Uchiha Ling's breasts felt completely unblocked. It felt great!
That afternoon, Teacher Xia Cha graded papers in the classroom, so furious that her breasts felt completely blocked.
"Yamano, you were right about Uchiha Ling being a genius at sparring! She only scored nine points!"
Yamano was drinking tea when he choked on it and began coughing violently.
"How much? Cough, cough—how much did you say?"
Yamano took Uchiha Ling's paper and examined it carefully from front to back before sighing.
"It seems Uchiha Ling's theoretical ability is rather poor. She has no command ability.
"How could she bring fewer than two hundred Soldier Pills for a five-week mission for a Battalion? Wouldn't everyone starve to death?
"They'd have to steal and rob supplies halfway through. At least they wouldn't have to worry about the nobles of the Land of Fire, though it would sound bad and damage the Hidden Leaf Village's reputation.
"How could she even get the calculation for the Kunai's drop wrong?
"I understand now. Uchiha Ling throws Kunai by feel and instinct. She doesn't rely on calculations.
"Forget it. Don't let her calculate. If she believes her calculations are correct, it might even affect her Kunai throwing."
Xia Cha suddenly snatched the paper away and continued grading the other exams.
Yamano thought that he had to report Uchiha Ling's poor Theory Class performance to Team Leader Huìdài.
With grades like these, Early Graduation was out of the question. Even if Uchiha Ling were given another three years, she might not be able to pass.
Before the next day's sparring exam, Theory Class teacher Xia Cha entered the classroom in her clicking high heels, her beautiful face filled with displeasure.
"Rin! Hand out the papers!"
Seeing how unhappy the teacher was, Rin Nohara knew that someone in the class must have done badly. Could that person be Obito Uchiha?
She hurriedly handed out the papers.
Teacher Xia Cha stood at the lectern with a grim expression. "There are a few particularly exceptional people in our class who scored only single-digit marks! Reflect on yourselves! Do these few particularly exceptional people really deserve all the board work I did for you this semester?"
Uchiha Ling thought, There are several other particularly exceptional people? Could there be geniuses like me?
After receiving her paper, Uchiha Ling saw that she had actually scored nine points.
No way. I acted that badly, and I still got nine points?
Looking closely, she saw that Teacher Xia Cha had really gone all out. Amid all those incorrect formulas and useless rambling, she had found several marks for working and forcibly given her nine points.
She was far too conscientious, but Uchiha Ling did not particularly need that.
The students looked around at one another's scores.
After Teacher Xia Cha left, Obito Uchiha asked Rin about Uchiha Ling's score.
He excitedly ran to the back row of the classroom.
"Uchiha Ling! You finally got what was coming! Hahaha! You only got nine points?"
"Oh? What about you, Obito Uchiha? You came here to mock me, so how many points did you get?"
"Me? I got seven points!"
"Wait. You got seven, and I scored twenty-eight percent higher than you. What are you laughing at?"
Obito Uchiha wanted to argue, but he could not figure out what percentage more Uchiha Ling had scored than him. His brain crashed.
It was too difficult. Math was too difficult.
Might Guy came over as well. He looked at his own paper, then at the other two papers.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness. I'm not last. Obito, I'm one point ahead of you!"
Uchiha Ling said happily,
"Seven, eight, nine. Who would have thought there would be as many as three particularly exceptional people the teacher mentioned?
"We're all mud that can't be stuck to a wall, and together we've made a whole pond.
"We're a row of three shit-stirring sticks.
"We aren't just three lumps of rat droppings that fell into a pot of soup. We're an entire huge pot of rat-dropping soup that's been boiled for an hour!"
"Stop insulting us, Uchiha Ling! Stop! I can't take it anymore..."
After receiving their papers, the students soon headed to the training ground for the sparring exam.
The first match was Uchiha Ling versus Might Guy.
Yamano thought about how the two were the bottom two in Theory Class yet the top two in sparring. When the God of Shinobi opened one door for you, He would inevitably close another.
Neither of them had the ability to be a Battalion Commander, but they were the team's ace fighters and top soldiers.
Uchiha Ling entered the field and said to Might Guy,
"Might Guy, Kakashi has become a Chunin and left you far behind.
"Here's some bad news: I've improved rapidly recently, and I've left you far behind as well.
"If you don't improve soon, you won't be qualified to spar with me anymore. I'll have to challenge someone else."
Might Guy snorted. "I've improved too. Stop trying to provoke me with that trash talk. I've heard it so many times that I'm not afraid of it anymore."
"Oh? You're not afraid of my trash talk?" Uchiha Ling raised her fist. "Then are you afraid of this little sandbag-like fist?"
Might Guy was even less afraid. He formed the Opposing Hands Seal and charged forward.
Half a second later, he went flying and crashed back where he had started.
He sat up on the ground and stared at Uchiha Ling in shock.
Uchiha Ling had not been boasting. She really had become stronger—much stronger!
Her punches were faster than his, her fists were incredibly hard, and her strength was far greater than his.
"See, Might Guy? Work hard during the holidays, or you won't be qualified to challenge me anymore.
"You claim that being proficient in Taijutsu can still make you an excellent ninja. Stop deceiving yourself.
"That's merely an excuse because you can't use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. In reality, you're not even proficient in Taijutsu."
When Might Guy left school at the end of term, he was miserable.
He was second-to-last in Theory Class, and his performance in sparring had been mediocre. He had not even had time to show what he could do before failing to block a single punch from Uchiha Ling.
His mood was already terrible, and on the way home, Might Guy heard someone mocking his father.
"That Might Duy guy—he still acts like a child, going on about youth and passion all day long. It's ridiculous."
"Someone like that couldn't become a Chunin, let alone be given a Forehead Protector. It would be a disgrace to the Hidden Leaf Village."
Under Uchiha Ling's influence, Might Guy had long since become immune to trash talk directed at him. But the moment he heard trash talk about his father, he exploded.
