We Uchiha Accepted It

Inuzuka Hara's and Mitaraishi Anko's squads broke away from the squadron and headed toward the Land of Waterfalls.

They passed through Zone 19 and greeted the Defense Squad.

Suzuri, the Defense Squad's captain, was a kunoichi with pale blond hair in big waves and a voluptuous figure. Beneath her open vest, she wore a dark green, tight-fitting dress that hugged her hips, and she was smoking a slim cigarette.

Suzuri was delighted to see two squads heading into the Land of Waterfalls.

Her squad would no longer be on the front line against the Stone Ninja. With two Hidden Leaf Village squads ahead of them, they felt so much safer!

Suzuri drew the smoke deep into her lungs, then exhaled a long stream of bluish smoke, a smile spreading across her face.

"Captain Suzuri, isn't that smile a little too obvious?" Uchiha Ling poured cold water on her enthusiasm.

"Once the Stone Ninja discover we've entered the Land of Waterfalls, they'll take it as a provocation. As long as we run fast enough, we can lead a whole horde of Stone Ninja back here. Then you'll really have something to cry about!"

Suzuri paused midway through her second drag. Right, that was a possibility too.

These two squads might not be here to shield them from danger, but to bring disaster down on their heads.

Inuzuka Hara rolled his eyes at Uchiha Ling and explained,

"Don't worry. Our mission is reconnaissance and intelligence gathering. We'll avoid large-scale engagements."

The Defense Squad's ninjas looked a little less troubled, though their prejudices against the Uchiha Clan deepened.

The Uchiha Clan—their expressions, their looks, their tone of voice. Everything about them was so irritating.
