"By the way, where's Jin Ling?"
The Seven-Colored Deer, whose head Yu Chen was stroking, looked around and suddenly realized someone was missing. She looked at Yu Chen curiously. "Yu Chen, did you forget Jin Ling?"
A Lu explained, "It was not that Teacher forgot. Jin Ling herself said that she needed to go to the Western Ocean to handle some matters first. I imagine she has no time at the moment."
Zhao Xuanlang frowned. "No time? Teacher's method of summoning us is based on divine arts. It only requires a sliver of attention. Does Jin Ling not even have that much time to spare?"
Hearing this, the Seven-Colored Deer could not help worrying about the spirit embryo she had watched over for a time. "Yu Chen, what did Jin Ling go to do? Has she run into some trouble?"
"As for Jin Ling, see for yourselves."
As Yu Chen spoke, he drew his hand through the air, manifesting a scene.
Starlight swirled around Jin Ling, while night surged beneath her feet, turning the surroundings into a starry expanse.
Before Jin Ling stood a shadow of death holding a scythe and a lantern, along with a magical angel bearing a pair of dreamlike wings on his back.
A patch of pitch-black shadow floated before the three of them, formed from a small portion of the origin of night.
"Those two are?"
Looking at the figures in the illusion, A Lu said uncertainly, "Charon and Hypnos?"
"That's right!" Yu Chen nodded. Standing against Jin Ling and seeking to seize the origin of night were the underworld ferryman Charon, whom she had enlightened during her time as Nyx, and Hypnos, the god of sleep.
As the original underworld ferryman, with Nyx and Yu Chen's aid, Charon had forged the Death Three Artifacts.
