Odin repeated the title in his heart, yet found no trace of its origin. A possibility came to mind, and suppressing his astonishment, he asked, "Are you a new god who has just joined the Central Plains Divine System?"

After receiving an affirmative answer, Odin's heart ached even more.

One had to know that when the Radiance Sovereign had ruled the entire West, the many pantheons had suffered devastating losses. Pantheons like the Slavic Pantheon, which had not been powerful to begin with and possessed no true gods, had nearly lost their inheritances entirely. Only a few incarnations remained, lingering on in the human world and barely clinging to life.

Even the great pantheons protected by true gods had fared little better. Mount Olympus had collapsed, and the World Tree had been burned away by more than half.

Although Odin was still called the God King, in truth, his wife—Frigga, the queen of the pantheon and goddess who sheltered marriage and family—had fallen alongside Hodr, the god of darkness, during the Radiance Sovereign's first assault while protecting her son Baldr, the god of light.

After that, Thor and his wife, who had been the pantheon's god of strength, storms, and thunder, had also fallen in the subsequent conflicts with the Radiance Sovereign. Tyr, the god of war, had likewise fallen from godhood through battle after battle, leaving behind only an incarnation on the peculiar land of the Free City.

As for Vidar, the god of primeval forests who had supposedly survived Ragnarok, he too had fallen into slumber with the destruction of the World Tree and the loss of faith in the human world.

In short, Odin no longer had many people under his command.
