Tongtian stood outside the vast majority of the worlds that had turned into fleshy spheres. Watching the Great Sages within struggle and strive without cease, hoping to guide their worlds toward rebirth, a trace of contemplation rose in his eyes.
The special connection between Tongtian and Yu Chen had kept his cultivation philosophy inclined toward destruction and finality.
Whether delivering salvation or offering redemption, it was more often the influence of Yu Chen's power. In the final analysis, Tongtian's power was closer to a derivative of Yu Chen's, or an enhancement of him in certain respects. Too many of the domains he embodied overlapped with Yu Chen's; what could be taken out independently could not form a complete system of its own.
The Highest Purity Dao Qi he displayed was, in the end, still a derivative of Yu Chen's Dao Qi.
This was no small obstacle to Tongtian perfecting himself and becoming an independent individual.
If he could not condense his own Dao Qi, then even if Tongtian truly gained independent spirituality in the future, he would be unable to escape Yu Chen's influence. In the eyes of outsiders, he would ultimately remain Yu Chen's incarnation.
The only difference would be that he changed from an incarnation born from Yu Chen's spirituality into an individual whose spirituality had been refined by Yu Chen, unable to obtain freedom.
Although that was already enough for Tongtian, Yu Chen did not seem to think so.
Yu Chen hoped Tongtian could have a better, broader future.
