Background

Zhao Wuji was a Shrek Academy instructor known as the Immovable Bright King. When Chen Qiye applied to teach at the academy, Flender selected Zhao Wuji to test him. Confident in his Soul Sage cultivation and Immovable Bright King Body, Zhao Wuji offered to take a punch without moving; Chen Qiye sent him through several academy buildings with a strike that caused little actual injury but left him shocked by the gap in strength. 116

His first encounter with Tang Hao was considerably less favorable. Chen Qiye lured him into the forest, where Tang Hao beat him as punishment for bullying Tang San during Shrek’s assessment. Zhao Wuji immediately recognized Tang Hao’s nine rings and humbled himself before the Title Douluo. 120 121

After Chen Qiye joined Shrek, Zhao Wuji became one of his most steadfast allies. He accompanied the Shrek Seven Monsters into the Star Dou Great Forest, defended Oscar’s soul-ring opportunity against Chao Tianxiang, and grew increasingly confident because Chen Qiye stood behind the group. 130 132
