Background / History

Yu Xiaogang is the son of Yu Yuanzhen, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s leader. Before his martial soul awakening, the clan regarded him as a prospective successor; according to Yang Xiu’s account, this status left him spoiled, domineering, and resented by many clan members. 30

At age six, he awakened Luo Sanpao, a defective mutation of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial soul, alongside only innate half-rank Soul Power. Yu Yuanzhen nevertheless poured enormous resources into his cultivation and regularly transferred his own Soul Power to him, weakening himself over time. Yu Xiaogang eventually reached Rank 29 but could not advance further, while his use of resources intended for other disciples deepened the clan’s hostility toward him. 30 32

After leaving the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, Yu Xiaogang went to Spirit Hall in search of a way to repair Luo Sanpao and attain Rank 30. There, his relationship with the young Bibi Dong granted him access to Spirit Hall’s library.
