Background / History

Tang Hao was a core disciple of the Clear Sky Sect, one of the sect's “Twin Stars,” and was once raised as a prospective successor to the sect master. He possessed two inherited Clear Sky Sect soul bones among a complete six-piece set of ten-thousand-year soul bones. 19 24

After Ah Yin sacrificed herself, Tang Hao broke through to Rank 92 and fought his way out against Qian Xunji, Chrysanthemum Douluo, and Ghost Douluo, severely injuring all three. The conflict led to Spirit Hall suppressing the Clear Sky Sect, forcing the sect into seclusion. Tang Hao, however, withdrew to Holy Soul Village instead of aiding his sect. 18 19 23

He lived there in a dilapidated wooden house with his one-year-old son Tang San, spending his days drunk and leaving Tang San to fetch wine and endure hunger. 18

Personality

Tang Hao is domineering, prideful, and particularly confident in the Clear Sky Hammer’s direct power. He repeatedly belittles Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo based on his earlier victory over them, even after their Dark Night Marks strengthen them. 19 20

His confidence collapses into desperation once Qian Xunye reveals superior strength. Despite this, Tang Hao remains fiercely protective of Tang San and attempts to flee with him when defeat becomes certain. In his final moments, he asks Qian Xunye not to harm his son. 20 23

Qian Xunye, Chrysanthemum Douluo, and Ghost Douluo track Tang Hao to Holy Soul Village. Tang Hao initially faces the two elders with confidence, relying on his Rank 93 cultivation, Clear Sky Hammer, soul bones, and sect techniques. 18 19

Defeat by Dark Douluo

Tang Hao initially gains ground against Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo, but Qian Xunye enters the battle and reveals a soul-ring configuration of eight black rings and one red ring. Tang Hao attempts to escape with Tang San, is captured, and is beaten into submission by Qian Xunye. 20 21

Tang Hao attempts to turn the battle through the Chaotic Wind Hammer Technique, but Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo freeze his eighty-first strike with Two Extremes Still Domain. Qian Xunye severs Tang Hao’s left arm and prepares his ninth soul skill. 22

Death and aftermath

Tang Hao detonates his remaining eight soul rings through Ring Detonation, but Qian Xunye’s Dark Judgment Sword overwhelms the attack. Mortally wounded, Tang Hao is killed when Qian Xunye crushes his head. 23

Qian Xunye removes Tang Hao’s six soul bones and deliberately publicizes the death under the name “Dark Douluo.” The news provokes Tang Xiao and the Clear Sky Sect into pursuing revenge, eventually contributing to the sect’s annihilation. 24 27 71
