Background / History

Di Tian originated in the Divine Realm rather than on Douluo Continent. He personally received the Dragon God’s Claw from the Dragon God and retained knowledge of the restrictions preventing humans from reaching Level 100 in the mortal plane without a Divine Position 110 114.

In Star Dou Forest, he served Gu Yuena alongside the other Great Fierce Beasts. Di Tian and his companions captured and imprisoned the million-year Sky Dream Ice Silkworm; he was sleeping while absorbing its energy when Qian Xunye’s activities near Life Lake awakened him 95 99 115.

Appearance

Di Tian possesses both an enormous black dragon body and a compact half-human combat form 101 111.

Personality

Di Tian is proud, imperious, and openly contemptuous of human opponents. He calls himself “this Emperor,” initially considers Qian Daoliu only barely qualified to fight him, and assumes that Qian Xunye’s sudden superiority must be an illusion or a temporary secret technique 110 111 113.

His devotion to Zi Ji drives him to threaten not only her attacker but everyone connected to him. This vengeance extends to an attempt to kill Qian Renxue and an invasion threatening an entire human city 102 112.

Despite that cruelty, Di Tian remains protective of the soul beast race. He accepts a duel partly to reduce his army’s casualties, begs for the beasts’ lives after his defeat, and urges Gu Yuena to abandon him rather than risk exposure to the Divine Realm. His distrust of humans makes him strongly oppose entrusting the race’s future to Qian Xunye 111 115 117.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Awakening and Zi Ji’s Capture

Di Tian awakens when he senses Qian Xunye attacking the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape. He subsequently detects Zi Ji’s fading life aura and leads the fierce beasts out to intervene, but arrives after her body has died and her soul has become Qian Xunye’s Soul Spirit 99 101.

His first direct clash with Qian Xunye ends evenly. Qian Xunye escapes with Qian Renxue rather than expose her to the other beasts. After learning that Zi Ji’s soul still exists, Di Tian identifies Spirit Hall as their likely affiliation and pursues revenge against it 102.

Beast Tide and Siege of Spirit City

Di Tian initially demands that Spirit Hall surrender Qian Xunye within one month. When informed that the city is preparing to resist, he abandons the deadline and immediately declares war 102 108.

At Spirit City, he defeats Qian Daoliu and crushes the combined intervention of Qian Renxue and seven Elders. He then orders the army to charge and attempts to kill Qian Renxue personally. Qian Xunye’s descending Gods’ Sword blocks the strike 111 112.

Defeat and Release

The returning Qian Xunye overwhelms Di Tian, defeats the other fierce beasts, and breaks the Dragon God’s Claw. Unable to resist, Di Tian accepts his own fate but begs that the army be spared. Qian Xunye instead intends to turn the defeated leaders into Soul Spirits 113 114 115.

Gu Yuena’s intervention changes that outcome. After Qian Xunye proves he can reach Level 101, she negotiates a three-year pact: if he defeats her, both she and Di Tian will become his Soul Spirits. Di Tian, Bi Ji, Yao Ling, and Scarlet King are released, and the army withdraws 118.

The Three-Year Pact

Di Tian accompanies Gu Yuena when Qian Xunye returns three years later. He watches in disbelief as Qian Xunye suppresses and defeats her. Gu Yuena accepts the result, while Qian Xunye promises to help open a path to godhood for the soul beast race 122 123.
