ANBU Assessment, Instantly Overwhelms the Jonin Examiner

The Third Hokage stared at Uchiha Mu,

His fingers unconsciously rubbed his pipe, his eyes full of deliberation.

He knew this kid was far from as simple as he appeared, but Konoha's ANBU was currently short on talent.

With one more expert like him, Konoha's civilians would have one more layer of protection.

"You can join the ANBU, but you must pass the assessment."

The Third Hokage said gravely,

"ANBU has no use for idlers. Even if you have jonin-level strength, you must prove that you deserve the ANBU identity."

"No problem."

Mu's lips curled into a faint smile, his tone relaxed.

"Anything works for me."

The Third Hokage gave the guard beside him a look,

And soon, three ANBU members dressed in black combat uniforms

And wearing animal masks entered. Their leader was the ANBU squad captain, a veteran jonin.

"The assessment rules are simple: hold out for the time it takes an incense stick to burn under the combined attack of three ANBU members,

Or defeat one of them, and you pass."

The Third Hokage said,

"Remember, when ANBU strike, they show no mercy. Be careful."

The moment he finished speaking, the three ANBU moved at once.

The captain in the lead held a short blade, his body darting out like a ghost,

The blade carried a biting wind as it stabbed straight for Mu's heart. The other two ANBU flanked him from both sides, their shuriken precisely sealing off every route of retreat.

The air in the office instantly froze, and the guards all held their breath.

They all wanted to see what this fifteen-year-old Uchiha youth was truly capable of.

Facing the attack from all sides, Mu stood perfectly still.

Only when the short blade was about to touch his collar did his figure suddenly blur.

"Afterimage?"

The ANBU captain's pupils shrank sharply, and he instinctively withdrew his blade to block.

But the next second,

He felt a numbness at the back of his neck as a powerful surge of chakra flooded into his body.

The chakra throughout his body was instantly sealed, and his short blade fell to the floor with a clang.

He stiffly turned his head and saw Mu standing behind him, one fingertip lightly pressed against the back of his neck, a faint smile on his face.

"You..." The ANBU captain's face was full of disbelief. He had not even seen Mu move before he was subdued.

Seeing this, the other two ANBU immediately unleashed ninjutsu:

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"

The fire and water techniques intertwined, forming a massive shockwave that swept toward Mu.

Mu's gaze narrowed slightly as he gently raised his right hand. "Domain of Time!"

In an instant, time within a ten-meter radius around Mu slowed tenfold.

The originally fierce waves of fire and water dragon now moved toward him as though in slow motion.

Mu calmly sidestepped, avoiding the pincer attack of the two techniques while forming hand seals.

His figure instantly appeared behind the two ANBU members.

He struck out with both hands at once, sending two chakra palm blasts roaring forward.

Bang! Bang!

With two dull thuds, the two ANBU did not even have time to react.

They were sent flying and slammed heavily into the wall, where they passed out.

The entire process took only two or three seconds.

The office fell silent. The Third Hokage nearly dropped the pipe in his hand,

While the guards stood dumbfounded, their faces filled with shock.

This was jonin-level strength?

He was far stronger than even an elite jonin!

Mu dusted off his hands and looked at the Third Hokage.

"Grandpa Third, does this count as passing?"

The Third Hokage took a deep breath.

He had seen those eyes just now, and the space-time ninjutsu had shocked him as well.

Suppressing the turmoil in his heart, he nodded.

"Not bad. You passed. From today onward, you are an ANBU member. Your codename is 'Shadow,' and you will report directly to me."

"Lord Hokage, this is bad! The Scroll of Sealing has been stolen!"

The Third Hokage's expression changed drastically as he sprang to his feet.

"What?! Who did it?"

A knowing smile appeared on Mu's lips. He knew that Naruto had finally made his move.

"Grandpa Third, don't panic."

Mu said,

"I know who stole it, and I know where he is. I'll retrieve it for you."

Before the Third Hokage could react, Mu had already vanished from the office.

The Third Hokage looked at the empty doorway, another storm raging in his heart.

"This kid's speed."

"That was space-time ninjutsu."

"The Uchiha Clan really are all monsters. No wonder Danzo was so determined to wipe them out."

He was already this fast...

In the small woods outside Konoha,

Naruto clutched the Scroll of Sealing as he ran, panting heavily, his face full of excitement and nervousness.

"Great, I finally got the Scroll of Sealing! As long as I learn the ninjutsu inside,

I can pass the Genin Exam and become Hokage!"

He muttered to himself as he ran, completely unaware that a dark figure was silently closing in behind him.

"Naruto, stop!"

A loud shout rang out as Mizuki leaped from behind a tree, a sinister smile on his face.

"Hand over the Scroll of Sealing, or I'll kill you!"

Naruto's expression changed. He hurriedly hugged the Scroll of Sealing to his chest and backed away several steps.

"Teacher Mizuki, why are you trying to take the Scroll of Sealing?"

"Why?" Mizuki sneered.

"Because that old fool, the Third Hokage, has always looked down on me! As long as I get the Scroll of Sealing,

"and offer it to Lord Orochimaru,"

"I'll gain tremendous power. Then all of Konoha will have to obey me!"

As he spoke, Mizuki formed hand seals.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

A massive fireball blasted toward Naruto.

Naruto trembled all over in fright, with no idea how to dodge.

Just as the fireball was about to hit Naruto, a figure dressed in white suddenly appeared and stood in front of him.

"Who?!"

Mizuki's pupils shrank sharply as he instinctively increased his chakra output.

Mu raised his right hand and lightly blocked it.

"Domain of Time!"

The fierce fireball instantly slowed, hanging before Mu as though in slow motion before gradually dispersing.

"Uchiha Mu?!"

Mizuki recognized Mu's face. The few remaining members of the Uchiha Clan were all under Orochimaru's surveillance.

But this guy had not appeared for three years.

Why had he suddenly shown up?

His face was full of disbelief.

"Aren't you a survivor of the Uchiha Clan massacre? Why are you here?"

Mu ignored him and turned to Naruto behind him, his tone calm.

"Kid, give me the Scroll of Sealing. This isn't a place you should be."

Naruto froze for a moment. Looking at Mu's back, he did not know who this person was, but he could sense it.

This guy's strength was absolutely beyond anything he could contend with.

That elusive ability alone made it obvious.

And he could sense that Mu meant him no harm.

Though Naruto was young and reckless, he was not stupid.
