Ming Ge looked rather pleased with himself.

It had been both of their first coming-of-age ceremonies. Meitellia could naturally tell that Ming Ge's movements had been clumsy, so he clearly had an excess of theoretical knowledge.

"I'm really curious what else is inside that head of yours."

Meitellia muttered, then flushed slightly and carefully bent over.

"Meitellia?"

"Gasp..."

Sensing her movement, Ming Ge changed to a position that would make things easier for her.

They lingered together for another half hour before finally getting dressed.

After Meitellia brushed her teeth, the two brought the food back.

"It's all cold."

Ming Ge brought over the dishes and muttered, "And it doesn't look very tasty. We'll just have to make do."

"But it doesn't seem like you lost out."

Meitellia snickered.

She looked a little like a mischievous little devil when she smiled. Meitellia had learned some bad habits too.

Of course, there was no need to say who had led her astray.

Ming Ge was rather proud of that.

After dinner, Ming Ge continued studying magical knowledge.

His progress in this area had not gone smoothly. At most, he had only three major directions and more than ten possible magical concepts.

The first direction was the simplest, but also the least effective.

It was to study items made from Great Sage Tree branches that could suppress skill effects, then create magic capable of suppressing skill effects.

Even top-tier mages found that difficult to achieve, much less the current Ming Ge. At best, he merely had an idea.

The second direction was to use sealing magic to seal away negative skills, but Ming Ge's foundation in that area was still too shallow to accomplish it.

Just like Fels the Sage, who had created the secret art of immortality and resurrection magic, occupying two magic slots, he could plan and inspire magic into acquired-type magic.

The discovery of magic was something that could only be encountered by chance. Even among adventurers marked with the Gods' Blessing, many went their entire lives without learning magic.

The Indeterminate Grimoire could forcibly inspire and teach magic, but it still required an adventurer to learn it. Otherwise, there were two possible outcomes.

The first was that the inspiration would fail. The second was that the magic could only be used after receiving the Gods' Blessing.

Of course, these were merely ideas. Ming Ge had not yet accumulated enough magical knowledge, and he did not even have a grimoire.

For that, Ming Ge could only choose to live off a woman. But mooching something as valuable as a grimoire would most likely provoke Hera's displeasure.

Trying to get something for nothing would most likely earn him a scolding from Hera so fierce he would be left in tatters. Before that, he needed results that would satisfy Hera.

In other words, a "fair" transaction with his future in-laws.

Information about the Black Dragon could serve as one condition. Producing results that would keep his future in-laws from looking down on him would be the second.

After reading for a while about magic, Ming Ge began training his magic power again.

Two days quickly passed. Along with his magic practice, the spell Vacuum Blade had taken shape.

"Blade Origin Slash."

Magic power condensed in his hand, forming a circular blade that spun at high speed and flew forward.

The circular blade severed a length of rope hanging in midair. Once it flew too far away, the magic power slipped out of Ming Ge's control and dissipated.

Besides Blade Origin Slash, Ming Ge had also developed various other forms.

Blade Origin Slash, Flying Slash, magic-power slashes that used offense in place of defense, and so on.

For magic with fixed attributes, even a slight change in form or nature made it a different spell.

But the innate-type magic Ming Ge developed formed a single magic series.

If he could grant it properties, he could develop the next stage of advanced magic.

That was not difficult either, because magic power had no attribute. It was energy capable of triggering elemental phenomena.

Although Ming Ge was not a magic race, he could use innate-type magic. It was just that ordinary innate-type magic was not as useful as the Vacuum Blade series he had created.

However, those innate types involved changes in properties, such as elemental phenomena of fire, wind, light, and lightning.

Especially with Ming Ge's current control over magic power, even Riveria, the Nine Hell Sorceress of the Loki Familia, would likely struggle to match him. He had an innate advantage when learning this type of magic.

Even so, Ming Ge felt that his control over magic power still had room for improvement.

Chapter 14: Developing Magic

"Wind Blade Origin Slash."

Ming Ge murmured as the circular blade in his hand transformed into a circular blade of wind.

The wind blade glimmered with the sheen of a sharp edge. It spun continuously as Ming Ge controlled it to fly around his body.

"Using a small amount of magic power to leverage the world and trigger supernatural phenomena—the magic power consumed by attribute magic is actually lower instead."

Ming Ge muttered, "I've found another reason no one studies basic abilities like magic bullets."

This was also something Ming Ge had just discovered.

Compared to pure magic-power blades, magic with fixed attributes was not only more powerful, but consumed far less energy as well.

"No one has the concept of magic-power control in their minds. Even magic races directly learn innate-type magic and slowly improve their control through it."
