Background / History

Meitellia belonged to the Hera Familia, one of Orario’s two strongest Familias. Despite receiving a Divine Blessing, she lacked the talent to become an adventurer and developed a negative skill that steadily weakened her body. Its effect resembled continuous loss of health and became increasingly severe over time; even suppressive items could not fully contain it. 2 11

Her older sister, Alfia, suffered from the same type of negative skill. Meitellia nevertheless remained in the church while the rest of the Familia joined the Leviathan subjugation, praying for Alfia and the other adventurers’ safe return. 4 7 11

She meets the displaced Ming Ge after giving him bread and water, introducing herself as a Hera Familia member. Although he cannot understand either the common or sacred languages, she takes him in, gives him a room beneath the church, and patiently teaches him language and writing with a children’s primer. 1 3 4

After Ming Ge learns of her condition, he promises to find a cure by combining his knowledge from another world with local magic. Meitellia accepts his confession and becomes his wife, supporting his research even when its results remain uncertain. 10 41 129

Ming Ge’s treatments initially suppress most of her negative skill’s effects through inscriptions and restorative adjustment. Her health improves enough for ordinary walks and sustained training, and the eventual completion of his suppression magic frees her from living in fear of an approaching death. 31 74 135

Appearance

Meitellia is a beautiful but visibly delicate young woman whose frailty is emphasized by an unhealthy pallor and bouts of coughing. She is often described with a gentle smile despite her condition. 1 2

  • White, lightly curled hair. 5
  • Deep-sea-blue eyes. 7
  • Frequently wears a black Lolita dress. 5
  • Her soul is perceived as pure white: gentle, pure, dignified, and noble. 65
  • Magical inscriptions, including lotus-shaped patterns, cover much of her body to suppress her negative skill and support her training. 33 84

Personality

Meitellia is gentle, considerate, and unusually trusting. She offers comfort to Ming Ge even while suffering herself, welcomes an unknown stranger into the church, and patiently helps him adapt to a world whose languages he cannot speak. 2 3

Her kindness does not mean indecision. Though outwardly soft and usually accommodating, she is strong-willed once she chooses a course of action; even Hera cannot easily overrule her when something important is at stake. 11 20

She lives with unusual clarity about what she values: Ming Ge, Alfia, and her own happiness. Rather than resent her sister or fear the possibility of divided affection, she openly advocates for a future in which all three can remain family. 58 75

Ming Ge’s influence brings out a playful, mischievous side. She teases him about his creations, his attraction to other women, and Alfia’s feelings, while often acting as the mediator who pushes the more reserved Alfia toward honesty. 57 79 87

Abilities & Skills

Basic Innate Magic

Meitellia learns to manipulate magic power under Ming Ge’s guidance, beginning with deliberately simple spells rather than relying on a Divine Blessing’s magic slot. 14 15

  • Magic Bullet — gathers, condenses, and fires magic power through a three-part chant. 14 15
  • Vacuum Blade — learns Ming Ge’s chantless cutting magic. 21
  • Initially struggles with fine magic-power control, but remains eager to practice. 14 15
  • Her magic can be powerful, but her efficiency and control remain imperfect during early Dungeon training. 92

Detection Wave

A sensory-type spell learned from Ming Ge, Detection Wave allows Meitellia to examine physical conditions rather than merely detect nearby presences. 31

  • Detects severe bodily deterioration caused by negative skills. 31
  • Lets her recognize Alfia’s neural, fluid, tissue, and cellular weakness. 31
  • Supports the sisters’ treatment by making hidden physical damage perceptible. 31

Regulation Magic and Conditioning

Meitellia learns to use Regulation Magic as part of her rehabilitation and combat preparation. 84 93

  • Helps maintain her physical state while adapting to Gravity Magic training. 84

  • White Ripple — a graceful sword-drawing display surrounded by white ribbons and chilling intent. 91
  • Frost Extinction — launches frost-forged sword aura capable of freezing and severely wounding monsters at range. 92
  • She can fight on the thirteenth floor with Sode no Shirayuki and illusion support, but lacks consistent battle rhythm and vigilance. 95
