History

The Xiao Clan was one of the three major powers of Wu Tan City alongside the Jia Lie Clan and Ao Ba Clan. Before Xiao Ming's return, its momentum had been growing, prompting the other two clans to show signs of forming an alliance against it 11.

Xiao Ming had formerly been a back-courtyard servant and disciple of the clan. After disappearing during a journey to the Magical Beast Mountain Range, he returned at the head of Black Demon Stockade and declared that he and his followers had come to rejoin the Xiao Clan 1 12. Clan Leader Xiao Zhan welcomed him, but Jia Lie Bi and Ao Bapa exploited the arrival to accuse the Xiao Clan of seeking to dominate Wu Tan City 12 13.

When the city factions barred Xiao Ming's force from entering and demanded a “security deposit,” the dispute escalated into open conflict. Xiao Ming broke Wu Tan City's defensive formation, Black Demon Stockade forced open the gates, and the Xiao Clan seized control of the battlefield 13 14.

The Jia Lie and Ao Ba Clans launched a counterattack with hidden experts, severely injuring Xiao Zhan. The Xiao Clan endured the assault until Xiao Ming entered the battle with Gungnir, while Seven Baleful Intents' forces struck the enemy from the rear 16 17. The allied clans were defeated, their remaining forces were eliminated, and Xiao Clan members occupied their territories and industries 18 19.

The victory proved temporary. Xiao Ming learned that the captured Yun Xi was Yun Ling's grandson and feared retaliation from the Misty Cloud Sect. Xiao Zhan therefore ordered the clan's complete withdrawal from Wu Tan City, prioritizing the continuation of the Xiao bloodline over its newly acquired holdings 20 21. With assistance from Black Demon Stockade, the clan evacuated its shops and members in secret and relocated to the stockade 22 25.

Organization

• Xiao Zhan — Clan Leader; directed the defense of the clan and made the final decision to abandon Wu Tan City. He was gravely wounded during the allied clans' assault but continued to lead the defense 16 17 21.
• Clan elders — Senior leadership who coordinated military action and initially showed reluctance toward abandoning the clan's gains in Wu Tan City 14 21 22.
• War Wolf Camp — A Xiao Clan military camp used to assemble forces during the campaign against the Jia Lie and Ao Ba Clans 14 15.
• Younger-generation disciples — Dispatched to seize the defeated clans' territories and industries; their foundations were described as solid due to clan training 19.
• Xiao Ming — A returning clan member whose personal strength, command of Black Demon Stockade, and strategic decisions became central to the clan's survival 12 14 21.

Military Strength

• The clan was initially one of Wu Tan City's three major powers, though the city’s long-standing balance limited open conflict among the clans 11.
• Xiao Ming's return brought Black Demon Stockade into the Xiao Clan's cause. The stockade had grown to more than 800 members and included several Grand Battle Master-level cultivators after Xiao Ming empowered Seven Baleful Intents and his companions 8 11.
• Xiao Clan forces and Black Demon Stockade fought jointly during the breach of Wu Tan City and the subsequent defeat of the Jia Lie and Ao Ba Clans 14 18.
• The clan could not realistically resist Yun Ling and the Misty Cloud Sect, leading to its decision to evacuate rather than defend Wu Tan City 20 21.

Relationships

• Black Demon Stockade — Allied force led by Xiao Ming; its members fought beside the Xiao Clan and helped organize the clan's evacuation 14 18 22.
• Jia Lie Clan — Long-standing rival. Its leader, Jia Lie Bi, attempted to block Xiao Ming's return, joined in an assault on the Xiao Clan, and was ultimately defeated 12 16 24.
• Ao Ba Clan — Rival clan allied with the Jia Lie Clan against the Xiao Clan; its forces were defeated and its holdings were seized after the conflict 14 18 19.
• Misty Cloud Sect — A looming threat connected to Yun Xi and Yun Ling. Fear of the sect's retaliation directly caused the Xiao Clan's evacuation 20 21.
• Xiao Yan — His conflict with the Misty Cloud Sect was considered a future danger to the clan. Before departing, he left the clan a spatial ring containing necessary supplies 19 25.
• Wu Clan — A later report in Wu Tan City claimed that the City Lord had acted against the Xiao Clan and that the Wu Clan had risen in status afterward 49.
