Background / History

Jia Lie Bi led the Jia Lie Clan, one of Wu Tan City's three major powers. The clan was implicated as the mastermind behind the enslavement of trafficked children, prompting Xiao Ming to target it before entering the city 11.

For years, the Jia Lie Clan and Ao Ba Clan showed signs of joining forces against the increasingly influential Xiao Clan. Jia Lie Bi was a seasoned schemer who treated inter-clan relations as matters of interest rather than loyalty 11.

Personality

Jia Lie Bi was known for vicious cunning and political manipulation. He quickly exploited suspicion surrounding Xiao Ming's return to Wu Tan City, framing the Black Demon Stockade's arrival as a threat to public safety while seeking to preserve the Jia Lie Clan's position 12.

He was opportunistic and extortionate, demanding resources from Xiao Ming as a supposed “security deposit” for entry into the city. Smaller-clan leaders recognized the demand as another attempt by the Jia Lie Clan to profit from the situation 13.

Despite his calculating nature, Jia Lie Bi became increasingly desperate once the Jia Lie Clan was defeated. The sight of his clansmen's corpses and his fear of Xiao Ming eroded his composure, though he continued pursuing escape and revenge until his death 23 24.

Opposition to Xiao Ming's Entry

When Xiao Ming arrived outside Wu Tan City with the Black Demon Stockade, Jia Lie Bi used the force's unknown origins to turn other clans against the Xiao Clan. He blocked the gates, invoked the city's safety, and threatened force when Xiao Zhan resisted 12.

Jia Lie Bi escalated the standoff by demanding a resource payment from Xiao Ming as a “security deposit.” When Xiao Ming refused, Jia Lie Bi and the allied clans mobilized against the incoming force 13.

Battle for Wu Tan City

After Xiao Ming damaged Wu Tan City's defensive formation, Jia Lie Bi entered the battle personally. The Jia Lie and Ao Ba forces were overwhelmed, forcing both patriarchs to retreat from the city walls 14.

Jia Lie Bi later joined Ao Bapa in a direct attack on the Xiao Clan. He declared the Xiao Clan's destruction necessary for his own clan's security, but Xiao Ming defeated him with Gungnir, severing his right arm 16 17.

Defeat and Imprisonment

Jia Lie Bi was grievously wounded alongside Yun Xi as the Xiao Clan and Black Demon Stockade routed the allied forces. He denied Xiao Ming's accusations of past misconduct, but watched as the Jia Lie Clan's remaining defenses were targeted for elimination 18.

Imprisoned with Ao Bapa and Yun Xi, Jia Lie Bi inferred that the Xiao Clan was preparing to abandon Wu Tan City. He feared that Xiao Ming would kill him and Ao Bapa before leaving, since neither had the protection of the Misty Cloud Sect 22.

Escape Attempt and Death

Jia Lie Bi broke the prison's restrictive formations by expending one-third of his battle qi, then helped free imprisoned cultivators from the Jia Lie and Ao Ba Clans. At the prison entrance, he found his clansmen dead and realized Xiao Ming had arranged an ambush 23.

Refusing to surrender, Jia Lie Bi launched a final attack and attempted to perish together with Xiao Ming. Seven Baleful Intents and his allies overwhelmed him; Seven Baleful Intents punched through Jia Lie Bi's chest and crushed his head, killing him 24.
