Background / History

Yun Xiao and her sisters Qiong Xiao and Bi Xiao took human form on the Three Immortal Isles following their tribulation. When Lei Xiao appeared within the islands' intact Innate Great Array and called himself their younger brother, she cautiously assessed the impossible arrival before the islands came under attack. Yun Xiao and her sisters maintained the array despite their depleted mana, but Lei Xiao ultimately protected them by using Purple Firmament Origin Divine Thunder. She caught him when he collapsed from the backlash and used Innate Yin-Yang Creation Qi to heal him, allowing him to recover and advance in cultivation. 1 2 3

After emerging from seclusion, Yun Xiao learned that Lei Xiao and Bi Xiao had departed the islands. By sensing the increase in the interconnected luck of the Three Xiao, she concluded that Bi Xiao had obtained a major fortuitous opportunity. She and Qiong Xiao later became trapped within the Yin-Yang Profound Baleful Array after Qiong Xiao obtained the Dragon-Binding Rope, the core of a seal containing the Innate Yin-Yang Baleful Qi Flood Dragon. 9 13

While their mana dwindled inside the formation, Yun Xiao refused Qiong Xiao's proposal to sacrifice herself as a rear guard, judging it futile against a Great Luo Golden Immortal-level foe. After Tongtian and Lei Xiao's group arrived, she rejected Zhunti's invitation to the West and shielded her injured sister. Tongtian subsequently accepted Yun Xiao as a personal disciple and planned to refine an innate spirit treasure for her from the flood dragon's corpse and Yin-Yang Demon God origin. 13 20 27 28

Yun Xiao led her fellow disciples to Purple Abode Island on Tongtian's orders. After Eastern Emperor Taiyi attacked the island, she accepted Lei Xiao's assessment that remaining there was unsafe and departed with the group. Lei Xiao later gave her seven heavenly materials and earthly treasures so that she could refine a protective spirit treasure. 28 29 33 34

She later accompanied Lei Xiao into the forbidden Wind Abyss in search of an innate spirit treasure. There, she trusted him with her immortal power when the black tornado's force became overwhelming. The pair were saved by Linglong and brought into the Fortune Dragon Cauldron; Yun Xiao helped Lei Xiao understand Linglong's confinement and later stayed behind to refine the Wind-Repelling Seal and keep Linglong company while Lei Xiao left for Thunder Marsh. 36 38 39

As the eldest sister, she is deeply protective but refuses empty sacrifices. She stops Qiong Xiao from staying behind against the flood dragon and later intervenes when Lei Xiao's attempt to purge Qiong Xiao's Sha Qi risks damaging her body. 13 22
