KING's Phone Call

A barrage of questions left Wu Di, on the other end of the phone, stunned. However, he managed to gather his thoughts.

"The monster has been eliminated by me. I am safe now."

Beep beep beep~ A dial tone followed, leaving Jace bewildered. He suddenly felt that Wu Di was very much like someone—the Seventh S-Class Hero, KING.

KING always hung up after saying just a couple of simple sentences, and their voices even sounded quite similar.

"Director Jace, should we call back..."

Maria also felt a bit awkward, as usually, only S-Class Heroes dared to speak to the director like that.

"No need. If he really killed the monster, he must be injured. He's probably recuperating in a safe place now, so let's not disturb him for the time being."

Jace calmed down. Based on the situation at the scene, it was indeed possible that the powerful monster was defeated by Wu Di.

Otherwise, there was no explanation for why the monster disappeared and Wu Di survived.

"What did the Hero Association say?"

Saitama listlessly sucked on a lollipop, while Genos diligently cleaned the room nearby.

An urgent voice came from the television, and Wu Di, who was about to leave, stopped in his tracks.

"Teacher, I have something urgent and need to go out first."

Genos's eyes showed a determined look. Wu Di glanced at him, realizing this guy was always eager to prove himself.

"Alright, be careful out there."

Saitama didn't pay much mind, as the Hero Association had already announced they would send someone to handle it. However, only Wu Di knew that the intensity of this meteor disaster would exceed everyone's expectations.

Even the Third S-Class Hero, Silver Fang Bang, was helpless. In the end, it was Saitama who dealt with the meteor, but the entire Z City suffered severe damage from the meteor fragments.

Stepping out of Saitama's house, Wu Di looked up at the sky. He could faintly see a red light flashing, and he knew it was a meteor capable of destroying the entire Z City.

Wu Di weaved through the city. Countless people were rushing out of the city in a desperate scramble, causing a massive traffic jam within the city and trapping many in place.

"This won't do. Even if people evacuate eventually, Z City will still be doomed to destruction. It seems I'll have to request assistance from the association."

Wu Di made up his mind and was about to dial the phone in his hand when he suddenly paused. He then took out another phone from his pocket.

"Hello! This is KING!"

"Mr. KING?! What can I do for you?"

Customer service representative Maria was somewhat surprised, knowing that KING rarely contacted the Hero Association proactively.

"I am currently in Z City."

"What did you say? You're in Z City?!"

Maria turned to look at Jace behind her, who immediately picked up the phone.

"Mr. KING, what do you intend to do?"

Jace knew KING wouldn't say such a thing without reason; he must have a way to deal with this meteor crisis.

"Don't worry about the meteor. Just clean up the fragments that fall into the city after the meteor explodes, and minimize the damage as much as possible."

"Hurry and contact Metal Knight and nearby heroes. There isn't much time."

"But we can't reach them..."

Not long after, all heroes near Z City received a notice from the Hero Association.

"KING? He's actually in Z City too. The Association actually wants us to help clean up meteorite fragments? They're underestimating us."

"It looks like KING is going to make a move. But that's a meteorite, is he really confident he can shatter it?"

"Seventh S-Class Hero, the Strongest Man on Earth. Let me see just how strong your true power is."

For a time, heroes who were preparing to evacuate returned to Z City, quietly waiting for the meteorite's arrival.

Shua~ In the skies above Z City, a metallic figure zipped past. Genos, who was weaving through the rooftops, stopped in his tracks.

"What's this? Sixth S-Class Hero, Metal Knight!"

Genos held the new equipment developed by the Doctor in his hand. The meteorite was already very close to Z City, its flashing red light rapidly expanding at a visible rate.

"Cooperate with KING to clean up meteorite fragments?"

Genos found a suitable spot and stopped. He equipped the new weapon and waited quietly.

Thus, everyone was ready. While some might not believe the Hero Association, most wanted to witness how KING, the so-called Strongest Man on Earth, would resolve this crisis.

Wu Di sat on a rooftop, while Saitama beside him idly picked his ear.

"If I can advance, this isn't bad either."

"Besides, this is my city. Who gave you permission to fall here?!"
