Background / History

Blood Brow was once the Supreme Elder of Blood Cloud Cave, a branch of the Divine Blood Sect, and a Nascent Soul Middle Stage cultivator. Unable to break through her cultivation bottleneck, she murdered a Divine Blood Sect genius to steal the sect-defending Corpse King Reincarnation Art. The copy she obtained contained only its first three levels, and her crime was exposed soon afterward. 275

Before resorting to theft, she had made substantial contributions to the Divine Blood Sect and repeatedly requested the art, hoping to be accepted as a core disciple. Despite her Nascent Soul Middle Stage cultivation, the sect refused to recognize her as a core member. The exposure of her crime also brought about Blood Cloud Cave’s destruction. 275 795 838

Divine Blood Sect experts destroyed her body, captured her Nascent Soul, extracted her soul, and sealed it within a Soul Shackle made from soul-nurturing wood. She was imprisoned in a Bronze Corpse Coffin on an island in an underground lake, guarded by twenty-four indestructible bronze corpses. The soul-nurturing wood repeatedly restored her soul after torture, eventually allowing her to extend part of her soul power beyond the shackle. 275

She sent jade slips and maps to lure cultivators to the prison, anticipating that greed for ancient techniques would bring someone capable of breaking her restraints. Immediately after being freed, she attempted to devour Song Wen’s soul. When this failed, she abandoned part of her soul, took control of a silver corpse, and escaped. Blood Brow lured cultivators toward her underground prison through planted jade slips. Song Wen’s thunder art broke the restraint that held her, but her attempted soul-devouring attack failed, forcing her to flee in a silver corpse. 274 276

During their confrontation, she also demonstrated that her soul power could interrupt Song Wen’s Blood Escape Technique, preventing him from fleeing and forcing him to fight. The jade slips she left behind subsequently supplied him with the early stages of the Corpse King Reincarnation Art and an account of her imprisonment. 273 275

Nether God Temple

While inhabiting Wu Ren’s third-tier Silver Corpse, Blood Brow formed a temporary agreement with Song Wen to capture the Nether Fox: Song Wen would receive its Hidden Soul Jade brow bone, while Blood Brow would claim its corpse. She activated an ancient formation and nearly killed the fox before Song Wen undermined her plan with lightning arts. 377 380

She initially held the Lizardman King captive as bait and used an illusion to draw Song Wen out of hiding. During their negotiations, Song Wen told her that Yan Yiwen possessed the Profound Yin Body she had been seeking. When Song Wen refused to serve as bait for the late third-rank Nether Fox, Blood Brow threatened to kill him, but Tai He’s arrival interrupted the confrontation. She then negotiated a new arrangement in which Tai He would receive three of the fox’s tails. 377 378

Song Wen’s lightning briefly disrupted her control of the Silver Corpse, allowing his Ghost King to knock the formation disk from her hand. After the failed hunt, she disclosed her ancient origins and accepted Tai He’s Soul-Locking Curse in exchange for access to a Profound Yin vessel. 380 384

Possession of Yan Yiwen and Betrayal of Tai He

Blood Brow accepted Tai He’s Soul-Locking Curse in exchange for access to Yan Yiwen’s Profound Yin body, ancient resources, and a route toward the Bronze Key Coffin. She later used Jiang Chang as a decoy, escaped the Nine Palaces Sect, and exposed herself to Song Wen. 384 665 666

The initial escape followed a message intended for Yan Yiwen. Blood Brow recognized Song Wen through the memories inherited from her vessel and hoped to obtain his Bronze Key Coffin instead of risking the Shadow Soul Hall expedition. At Azure Wolf Valley, however, Song Wen trapped her with the Six Extremes Star-Guarding Formation and held the Void-Breaking Blade against her forehead. 664 666

After Song Wen allowed her to return to the Nine Palaces Sect, she used the sect’s Shadow Soul Hall expedition to acquire a Bronze Key Coffin. She subsequently escaped amid the conflict surrounding Blue Ink Lake, having also found a means to render Tai He’s Soul-Locking Curse ineffective. 668 725 746

Her means of suppressing the curse was temporary rather than permanent. Blood Brow entered the Divine Blood Hall alongside Song Wen and other cultivators, provided the group with Spirit Bell Shield, activated the Corpse King Hall altar, and negotiated information about the Ten Thousand Beasts Hall in exchange for rare spirit herbs. 786 796 803

Her knowledge did not provide a reliable route to the Technique Pavilion. She and Song Wen traveled through teleportation arrays and arrived in Avici Prison, where she identified a vulnerable rune and recommended a lightning attack to break the cell’s weakened restriction. 748

Ghost Suanni ultimately negotiated a share of Blood Firmament’s treasures and restrained his captured Nascent Soul, which was crushed despite his pleas and apology to Blood Brow. Blood Brow claimed the top-grade shield and infant corpse, accepting fewer other resources in exchange. 759

Orchid Realm and Withered Corpse Bamboo

After Blood Firmament’s death, Blood Brow identified the explorers’ location as an outer area of the Orchid Realm, formerly used by the Divine Blood Sect to cultivate rare treasures.
