After a kiss~
Sean could feel that Vanessa was excited too~
He slipped out of his bathrobe at top speed and slid under the covers!
Hmm...
The girl was actually a little nervous tonight. Had he gone too far yesterday?
Don't worry, Master Sean would definitely take it easy today!
He'd leave her time to eat dinner later!
From the very beginning, the battle entered a deadlock. Vanessa was unusually stubborn today, silently resisting Sean without making a sound.
That stirred up Sean's mischievous side. He had to make her speak!
They were both in great form today. In less than an hour, they had simmered two pots...
The second pot had also reached the final stage of heating over high flame...
"Slow down!"
Vanessa lowered her voice, suppressing the urge to cry out as she spoke to Sean.
Sean wasn't about to listen to her now. A dish had reached its crucial stage, with only the seasoning and final stirring left. If he stopped now, he wouldn't be able to control the heat properly~
Once it was finally over, Sean was about to tease Vanessa when he heard a noise from the bedroom bathroom...
He gave Vanessa a puzzled look, asking who was in their home.
No wonder the girl hadn't dared make a sound today.
Vanessa rolled her eyes, pushed Sean away, quickly tidied herself up, grabbed a nightgown, and ran into the bathroom too.
Sean curled his lips and went to the bathroom off the living room to wash himself.
Next came reheating the food~
What a hard life~
After working hard for over an hour just now, he still had to make dinner all over again~ And he had to make an extra portion!
By the time Sean had dinner back on the table, Elektra came out, followed by... Elektra!
Both women looked as though they had just gotten out of the bath...
The corner of Sean's mouth twitched~
Why did this feel a little bad?
Fortunately, the Elektra in front stepped up and gave Sean a passionate kiss.
"Not bad today!"
Only after hearing that did Sean relax. He hadn't gotten it wrong~
Whew~ What a relief~
The Elektra behind her wore a slightly complicated expression.
"Darling, you didn't go to the bookstore at all today, did you?"
When Vanessa heard Sean ask that, she rolled her eyes irritably.
"Why do you think that is?"
Sean gave an awkward laugh and said nothing more.
"Look at my fingers."
Vanessa held her slender hand out before Sean.
"Uh... this is..."
"I soaked in the bath for too long~"
Vanessa's fingertips were wrinkled. That was what happened when someone stayed in the bath too long.
Vanessa looked at Sean with a faint, ambiguous smile.
Hmm...
Sean looked back and forth between the two Elektras~
His head hurt!
"Ring, ring, ring!"
Just as Sean was nursing his headache, the phone at home rang!
The ringing sounded a little urgent.
As for why it sounded urgent... who the hell knew? It rang at the same frequency every time anyway.
Sean planned to see which Elektra would answer it, so he could figure out exactly what he was dealing with!
But both Elektras stood up at the same time, listening to the phone from either side.
What was going on?
The call was brief. After hanging up, they both turned to Sean and said at the same time:
"The bookstore is on fire!"
What!?
Sean immediately thought of Kingpin! That guy might have discovered that he had suddenly come into a large sum of money!
The Elektras hurried back into the bedroom. More than ten seconds later, after changing clothes, Vanessa and Elektra emerged.
Sean's eyes twitched involuntarily. In the end, he still couldn't tell who had been who before.
"Let's go! To the bookstore."
On the way downstairs, Sean called the clinic.
Ava Ellis answered. She smugly claimed credit to Sean—she had caught a bunch of arsonist bastards tonight!
Kingpin was pretty ruthless. There were people in the clinic!
Sean snorted inwardly. He couldn't do anything to the X-Men because there was an order those people needed to uphold.
That didn't mean he couldn't do anything to a gang boss. If Kingpin went down, there were plenty of people who could replace him.
Besides, what wrong could he do under the banner of justice?
He needed to learn from the X-Men! Because it was justice, it was right!
The three drove to Vanessa's bookstore, but the fire had not yet been completely extinguished.
Thick smoke billowed out of the windows. Even in the darkness, a column of pitch-black smoke was clearly visible.
"This time, the losses are pretty big! Do we have insurance?"
Sean asked Vanessa through gritted teeth.
"We do have insurance, but this is infuriating."
The police officer in charge had just informed them that this was a typical case of arson.
They hadn't even needed to wait for the fire to be put out. Four points of ignition had already been found.
"It was probably Kingpin."
"You're sure?"
"Yeah. A few days ago, I ruined one of Kingpin's deals."
Elektra looked at Sean in surprise.
"The docks?"
"Yeah."
"Kingpin lost over ten million. No wonder."
Elektra gave Sean a careful look, then spoke again. "I thought Matthew did it."
"I ran into him. What an annoying bastard."
Sean didn't mind badmouthing her ex-boyfriend in front of Elektra at all.
But strangely, Elektra didn't seem to react. It made Sean feel as though he had punched empty air.
"I think you should be more concerned about the building we just left."
After a moment of silence, Elektra suddenly said.
Sean and Vanessa immediately realized what she meant.
They rushed back to Lincoln Center, but an explosion greeted them.
"It's over."
Sean looked dejected.
Why did his home have to suffer so many disasters?
"Oh, damn it! All my clothes are in there."
Vanessa looked rather grief-stricken.
Sean's face darkened. The house had been destroyed! Why was she still thinking about clothes?
But the house was insured. The clothes weren't.
"Vanessa, go with Elektra. We'll deal with the bookstore tomorrow. Go somewhere safe with Elektra first."
"What about you?"
"I need to have a talk with Kingpin."
"How are you planning to see him?"
Elektra cut in.
"Isn't he just causing trouble? I'm better at it than he is."
"Wow! Do you know how to use bombs?"
"Bombs? There's no need for that."
Vanessa looked worried. "But you don't have any proof that Kingpin did this."
"You're right. It really is possible he didn't do it."
Sean actually agreed with Vanessa's point.
"But we don't need proof. It's enough that he has a motive."
"Do whatever you want!"
Vanessa was angry too. She had run that bookstore for half a year, only for it to be burned down in a single fire.
She had put a great deal of effort into it.
"I know Kingpin quite well. Do you need my help?"
Elektra volunteered.
"No. Just stay with Vanessa."
Vanessa and Elektra left.
Sean headed to the clinic alone.
Meanwhile, inside a van,
"Sir, are we really just going to watch these evil things happen?"
The young agent couldn't understand his superior's decision.
"This isn't our job. It belongs to the New York police."
"But when something this evil happens right in front of me and I do nothing, my heart is filled with guilt."
"Kid. You're an agent! Don't speak in that tone again!"
The young agent held a deep grudge against Phil Coulson~
His faith in justice was rapidly crumbling~
