After considering it, he sent an incarnation to the platform, where it settled upon a terrace. The resident envoy was already waiting there. His face was grave, and upon seeing Zhang Yu's incarnation appear, he bowed and said, "Greetings, Chief Envoy Zhang."
Zhang Yu nodded and returned the salute. "Has the resident envoy sought me out because your honored side's various deliberative ministers have sent a message?"
The resident envoy remained utterly solemn. "It is not a letter from the Upper Hall's various deliberative ministers. It is I who wished to seek out Chief Envoy Zhang."
Zhang Yu lowered his gaze. "You wished to see me?"
The resident envoy said sternly, "As the resident envoy, I represent Origin Xia. Surely I have the right to seek an audience with Chief Envoy Zhang."
Zhang Yu said, "Then what does the resident envoy wish to ask?"
The resident envoy raised his head, striving to look at Zhang Yu's incarnation amid the radiant mist. Though his mind and spirit were deeply unsettled, he still said earnestly, "I have also heard of the closure of the gates at Two Realms Pass." He drew a breath. "The fellow cultivators at the platform all say that Celestial Xia employed a treasure that suppresses the Dao. Thus, I have come to ask Chief Envoy Zhang: why was Origin Xia not informed beforehand? Those trapped within now—what has become of them?"
